  • Patent number: 7434768
Abstract: A portable turnout system for temporary connection of a rail line to a spur line includes a ramp section having a frame and two parallel rails mounted thereon, the parallel rails each having a forward end and a rearward end higher than the forward end such that the parallel rails have a positive grade from forward end to rearward end and a portable transfer track including at least one portable track section having a frame and two parallel rails mounted thereon, the portable transfer track releasably connectable at one end thereof to the rearward end of the parallel rails of the ramp section in an elevated position above the rail line. At least one portable transfer track support device supports the portable transfer track in the elevated position above the rail line and the portable transfer track is releasably connectable at the opposite end thereof to a spur line.

  • Patent number: 6854945
Abstract: In combination, an elongated tool having a striking end and a tapered insertion end and a drift pin cap. The drift pin cap includes a cap body having an upper end, a lower end and at least one side wall extending between and connecting the upper end and the lower end. A drift pin receiving cavity is formed in the lower end of the cap body which extends upwards towards the upper end within the cap body, the pin receiving cavity having a diameter smaller than a diameter of the cap body. The pin receiving cavity is operative to fit over and be retained on the striking end of the tool such that when the tool is impacted by a driving device, the drift pin cap is interposed between the tool and the driving device to prevent damage to the tool yet still permit driving of the tool.

  • Patent number: 5582371
Abstract: A rail flange securement clamp for adjustably mounting a switch point roller assist apparatus on a railroad rail includes a base plate and a top plate, the top plate generally upwardly spaced from the base plate and an adjustable connection device extending between and connecting the base plate and top plate for increasing and decreasing the distance between the base plate and top plate. A rail flange engagement plate having a base section and a rail flange engagement section is adjustably mounted on the securement clamp above the top plate such that the base section is mounted above the top plate and the rail flange engagement section extends outwardly from the top plate for engagement of a flange of a railroad rail thus securing a switch point roller assist apparatus on the railroad rail.

  • Patent number: 5501418
Abstract: A switch point roller assist apparatus includes an elongated main support structure on which is movably mounted a rail securement clamp for releasably adjustably connecting the main support structure to a railroad rail. An elongated tie bar is adjustably mounted on the main support structure generally perpendicular to the main support structure. A roller support cage is pivotally adjustably mounted on the main support structure, the roller support cage supporting at least one roller rotatably mounted thereon, each roller mounted generally perpendicular to the main support structure. The tie bar is adjustably mounted to the main support structure such that the position of the tie bar is vertically adjustable relative to the main support structure. Finally, the roller support cage is adjustably mounted on the main support structure such that the position of the rollers is vertically adjustable relative to the main support structure.
