  • Patent number: 8389787
Abstract: A process is presented for the management and control of the 2-phenyl content in a benzene alkylation process. The process includes the use of multiple reactor beds, with benzene flowing through the reactor beds in a sequential manner. The olefin stream is split to two or more portions, and a separate portion is passed to the first reactor bed and second reactor bed. Control of the ratio of the olefin flow splits controls the 2-phenyl content.

  • Patent number: 8388740
Abstract: A process is presented for the removal of dissolved oxygen from hydrocarbon streams. The hydrocarbons streams include kerosene and jet fuels. The process includes mixing the hydrocarbons streams with an oxygen free gas to form a gas-liquid mixture. The mixture is allowed to disengage into a gas stream and a liquid stream, thereby removing dissolved oxygen from the hydrocarbon stream.

  • Publication number: 20130023708
Abstract: Processes for making CX to CY olefins are provided. The processes include reacting a feedstock comprising C5 and C6 olefins under dimerization or oligomerization conditions to provide a dimerization or oligomerization product. The product is separated into a stream comprising unreacted C5 and C6 paraffins, a stream comprising C10 to CX-1 olefins, and a stream comprising CX to CY olefins, wherein X is at least 14 and Y is greater than X and less than or equal to 36.

  • Publication number: 20100331590
Abstract: Processes for the conversion of both straight- or branched-chain (e.g., paraffinic) as well as cyclic (e.g., naphthenic) hydrocarbons of a hydrocarbon feedstock into value added product streams are disclosed. The processes involve the use of both dehydrogenation and olefin cracking to produce both light olefins and aromatics in varying proportions depending on the feedstock composition and particular processing scheme. The processes are especially applicable to naphtha feedstocks comprising paraffins and naphthenes in the C5-C11 carbon number range.
