  • Publication number: 20230160706
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating a graph having nodes corresponding to garages, and edges corresponding to distances between pairs of garages that store moveable assets. A complexity of the graph in terms of nodes and/or edges is reduced, e.g., by segmenting the graph into sub-graphs, to obtain a modified graph. For each sub-graph, utilization values of the moveable assets are estimated for each node and metrics are calculated as pairwise differences between estimated utilizations less twice the distance between the corresponding garages. Candidate node pairs are identified as having metric values greater than zero. Node assets are ordered according to utilizations and a transfer recommendation is identified according to a garage pair having a maximum metric and an asset pair utilization having maximum difference. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9567215
Abstract: A method for producing hydrogen and/or other gases from steel plant wastes and waste heat is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of providing molten waste from steel plant like molten slag in a reactor. The molten slag is contacted with water and/or steam in the presence of a reducing agent to form a stream of hydrogen and/or other gases. The hydrogen and/or other gases can then be extracted from the stream of gases from the reactor.

  • Patent number: 9303922
Abstract: A method and apparatus to increase the cooling rate of gas used in a batch annealing furnace of cold rolling mills under bypass cooling. The invention makes use of the higher heat transfer capacities of nanocoolants developed by a high-shear mixing of nanoparticles and stabilizers in a basic aqueous medium for cooling heated hydrogen flowing through a heat exchanger during bypass cooling of the batch annealing furnace. The nanofluid is prepared in a nanofluid preparation unit.
