Abstract: According to some embodiments, a transaction may include receiving a funds transfer request, the funds transfer request specifying a source account associated with a first unit of value, a transaction amount, and a destination account associated with second unit of value, wherein the second unit of value is different than the first unit of value. The transaction may proceed with a response to the funds transfer request which is processed by automatically determining an exchange rate between the first and second units of value, wherein at least one of the first or second units of value is not a governmental currency, and automatically initiating a debit request to debit the transaction amount from the source account and automatically initiating a credit request to credit the transaction amount to the destination account.

Abstract: A request for a funds transfer is received in a computer. The request includes addressing information for an individual recipient of the requested funds transfer. The computer retrieves identification information that identifies a service provider for the recipient. A request is routed from the computer to a service provider by using the service provider identification information. The request to the service provider is for requesting recipient account information. The computer receives a payment account number from the service provider. The payment account number identifies a payment account that belongs to the recipient. The computer executes the requested funds transfer by routing the funds transfer to the recipient's payment account using the received payment account number.

Abstract: Pursuant to some embodiments, methods, systems, apparatus, computer program code and means for conducting a transaction by a user are provided that include receiving, during a purchase transaction, transaction data and a unique user identity identifier associated with a payment card; providing the identity identifier and the transaction data to a payment network; requesting verification of the transaction data and identity identifier; receiving a reply to the verification request of the transaction data and the identity identifier; associating a payment account number with the identity identifier; and authorizing the purchase transaction based on the payment account number associated with the identity identifier.
