Abstract: A disposable hypodermic syringe adapted to be easily disabled against re-use or flesh pricking. Has an outer barrel, an inner reservoir body fitted within the barrel, a needle support member connected to the reservoir body, a hypodermic needle mounted in the support body, and an elastic member mounted in stressed condition between the needle support member and the barrel member for expanding and moving the needle into the barrel member when the elastic member is released. The reservoir body is separated from the needle support member by applying torque between the barrel member and the reservoir body to part a plurality of web linkages and permit the spring to expand and push the needle support member and hypodermic needle to within the reservoir body.
