  • Patent number: 4906527
Abstract: Homogenous blends of polyetherimide polymers and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers prepared by solution blending techniques or melt blending are characterized by high impact strengths. Further disclosed are laminates of polyetherimide and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers that are characterized by strong bonding strengths between the layers of the laminates.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 6, 1990
    Assignee: General Electric Company
    Inventor: Deborah L. Allen
  • Patent number: 4804700
Abstract: Resinous composition comprised of, in physical admixture: (i) at least one copolyester-carbonate resin, (ii) at least one polyarylate resin, and (iii) at least one resin selected from polyphenylene ether resins, polystyrene resins, and mixtures thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 1985
Date of Patent: February 14, 1989
    Assignee: General Electric Company

  • Patent number: 4786692
Abstract: New and improved thermoplastic compositions are disclosed comprising a blend of an aromatic polycarbonate and a copolymer derived from a glycol portion comprising 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol and ethylene glycol present in molar ratios of 1:4 to 4:1 respectively and an acid portion comprising an aromatic dicarboxylic acid selected from terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, and mixtures thereof. The compositions are compatible with, and advantageously contain impact modifiers and flame retardants. The copolymer of the subject invention has a heat distortion temperature of from 60.degree. C. to 70.degree. C. and when incorporated in the thermoplastic compositions of this invention provides polycarbonate-based compositions which exhibit lower heat distortion temperatures while retaining good tensile, flexural and impact strengths.

  • Patent number: 4663378
Abstract: A silicone modified polyetherimide which contains a polyetherimide and a flow-modifying amount of a polyorganosiloxane. Modification of polyetherimides in accordance with this invention results in lower torsional forces and increased throughput rates in extrusion and injection molding operations.

  • Patent number: 4265986
Abstract: A photopolymer elastomeric article designed to be used primarily in a flexographic printing system comprising three constituents: a chlorosulfonated polyethylene polymer matrix, a photopolymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agent, as typified by esters of acrylic or methacrylic acid and a photoinitiator, which is a compound, which when irradiated, will initiate polymerization and/or crosslinking.
