  • Publication number: 20130030414
Abstract: An antiseptic cap and packaging for use with a connector are provided. The antiseptic cap includes a material containing an antiseptic solution. Upon application of the cap to the connector, the material compresses thereby releasing the antiseptic solution. Packaging of the antiseptic cap typically includes a cap holder and a lid. A user could remove the cap from the cap holder before applying it to a connector. Alternatively, the cap holder may be used to apply the cap to the connector.

  • Patent number: 7963476
Abstract: A tippet spool is self-orientating when displayed on pegs at retail. The tippet spool also has structures adapted to interlock adjacent tippet spools in a stack with one spool rotatable with respect to its neighbors. The tippet spool is self orientating because of an asymmetrical central opening with the center of mass of the tippet spool opposite the portion of the central opening furthest from the center of the spool.

    Assignee: The Orvis Company, Inc.
Inventors: Steven M. Hemkens, Deborah A Laun, David T. Middleton, Jr.
  • Patent number: 7931623
Abstract: A trocar system includes a cannula having a cannula head and a cannula tube, and an obturator having a cap and either a rounded tip or a cutting blade. The head and cap form an ergonomically shaped bulbous handle. At least a portion of an outer surface of the cannula head may include a resilient non-slip material. The cannula head may also include a monolithic housing having a port with a Luer Lock fitting and an integrally formed passageway for receiving a stopcock valve.

  • Patent number: 6989003
Abstract: A surgical trocar device having an obturator and cannula that requires less force to insert and remove from tissue. The cannula includes a head assembly and the obturator includes a cap assembly that have cooperating surfaces that bear against each other so that when the obturator is rotated about its axis the obturator is axially deflected within the cannula and thus more easily removed from the tissue into which the obturator is inserted. The tip of the obturator and the end of the cannula are designed to minimize tissue damage and insertion effort by providing a smooth, unencumbered surface transition. In one aspect of the invention, the tip of the cannula is smooth, continuous, and flexible and can radially deflect when the larger-diameter obturator is inserted or withdrawn though the cannula.

  • Patent number: 6983566
Abstract: A door and frame for electronic component cabinets features a peripheral vent with a baffle that substantially encompasses the entire 360-degree periphery of the door. This vent and baffle combination provides ventilation for the purposes of the electrical equipment when the door and frame are mounted to an electronic component cabinet. It also helps to avoid dust invasion and helps to eliminate dangers that can arise due to the insertion of objects into the cabinet by small children. In addition, it is invisible from the front of the component cabinet and is sleekly attractive from the front and side.
