Abstract: The invention relates to a storage bin, in particular a bin of storing foodstuffs, more particularly a bin for storing bread, comprising a box having an opening as well as a lid which is suspended from the box and can be moved between an open and a closed position for opening and closing the opening, respectively, characterized by pressing means for forcing the lid into the open position, and a closure which can be brought into an operative position for keeping the lid in the closed position and which can be brought into an inoperative position for moving the lid into the open position under the effect of the pressing means.
