  • Patent number: 9912820
Abstract: A policy determination function (PDF) makes policy and charging control decisions based on radio spectrum blocks. More particularly, the PDF: receives radio spectrum block data via an interface; and determines, using the radio spectrum block data, a first radio spectrum block for use during a session for a subscriber, wherein the first radio spectrum block is one of a plurality of radio spectrum blocks, and wherein the subscriber has a unique set of policy and charging control (PCC) rules corresponding to each of the radio spectrum blocks in the plurality. The PDF further selects and provides to a policy enforcement function the set of PCC rules for the subscriber corresponding to the first radio spectrum block, for applying to communications with the subscriber during the session.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 29, 2014
Date of Patent: March 6, 2018
    Assignee: MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC.
Inventors: Trent J. Miller, James A. Marocchi, Deborah Monks

  • Patent number: 7181234
Abstract: A communication system (100) for bridging talk groups includes private network communication devices (102) operating within a private network system, and public network communication devices (110, 122, 112) operating within a public network system. At least one communication subsystem (104) is operable with both the private and public network systems. The communication subsystem (104) relays information between the private network communication devices (102) and the public network communication devices (110, 122, 112).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 17, 2002
Date of Patent: February 20, 2007
    Assignee: Motorola, Inc.
Inventors: Chin Pan Wong, Jose E. Korneluk, Deborah Monks, Charles Jackson, Brian K. Larson, Scott H. Richards
  • Patent number: 6816734
Abstract: Location information is acquired through a public network system (102, 106) and transferred over to a private network system (104, 108) in order to improve location accuracy and reduce search time for a two-way radio (104).
