    Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and formulations comprising metalloprotease enzymes and protein hydrolysate inhibitors that exhibit increased storage stability. In one embodiment, the present invention provides liquid detergent formulations comprising at least one metalloprotease (e.g., Bacillus sp. neutral metalloprotease) that is stabilized by the inclusion of a protein hydrolysate in the detergent formulation. The invention also provides a method for making a protein hydrolysate for stabilizing a detergent formulation by digesting a protein substrate with a metalloprotease enzyme.
