  • Publication number: 20190043297
Abstract: The automated door-locking device comprises a keypad, a locking bar, and a locking bar catch. The locking bar is of a spring-loaded type. In an embodiment, the automated door-locking device is mounted on a classroom door. The locking bar catch is mounted on the classroom door and the keypad is fastened to the wall of the classroom. The classroom door is allowed to open and close normally when no intruder is on premises. The automated door-locking device is engaged by entering a code using the keypad and setting to “Lock Mode”. The locking bar is automatically rotated to securely engage with the locking bar catch. The automated door-locking device cannot be breached without breaking down the wall or the door. After the threat is over, the user resets the automated door-locking device to the “Safe Mode” using the same code. The locking bar releases from the locking bar catch.

  • Patent number: 8192410
Abstract: A control device for controlling drainage of waste from a surgical stoma of a human body. The control device comprises a first cylindrical hollow body member, a drain tube extending from the first cylindrical hollow body member, a second cylindrical hollow body member rotatably coupled to the first cylindrical hollow body member and a knob configured on the second cylindrical hollow body member. The first cylindrical hollow body member comprises a skirt portion extending radially outward for being removably attached to a surface surrounding the surgical stoma of the human body. The second cylindrical hollow body member comprises an aperture configured on the second sidewall. A rotation of the knob is capable of aligning the aperture of the second cylindrical hollow body member with the drain tube of the first cylindrical hollow body member thereby forming a passage for draining the waste.

  • Publication number: 20050240251
Abstract: A mechanism and method is presented for applying a cool object to various pressure points of the body to relieve the effects of hot flashes. In particular, the present invention involves cooling small internal sacks in a freezer, removing them when a hot flash occurs, placing the sacks in larger external pouches and then attaching the pouches to either a bracelet or watch around the wrist or a necklace such that the cool pouches can provide relief to the pressure points on the inside of the wrist, ankles or the back of the neck. Application of the cold pouches to these pressure points provides relief from the effects of hot flashes.

  • Publication number: 20030004787
Abstract: A method for generating a list of individuals to whom marketing efforts are to be directed comprises identifying a set of individuals (e.g., from a source database such as a data file or database storing market research data). One or more of the set of individuals are then located in a consumer database (e.g., national consumer database) to obtain data from the consumer database relating to the set of individuals. The obtained data is then analyzed to generate a model profile of the list of individuals, where the model profile identifies attributes of individuals who are likely to respond positively to the marketing efforts. For instance, the attributes may identify individuals of a particular income level, age range, or lifestyle element. The list of individuals is then generated from the consumer database using the model profile.
