  • Patent number: 7692160
Abstract: A method and system for fluorescence imaging of a target in a subject comprising a scattering medium is provided. The method comprises illuminating one or more points on a surface of the scattering medium using an illumination source, wherein the plurality of points define an illumination region, collecting emitted light from an illumination region and an area away from the illumination region, and generating an image of the scattering medium using the emitted light.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2007
Date of Patent: April 6, 2010
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Deborah Stutz Lee, Kajoli Banerjee Krishnan, Siavash Yazdanfar, Stephen Johnson Lomnes, Floribertus P. M. Heukensfeldt Jansen, Stephen Andrew Latham
  • Publication number: 20090234236
Abstract: A method of visualizing nerves by observing the hemodynamic response of the blood flow comprising: acquiring a pre-stimulus image of a target tissue; providing a stimulus to the target tissue; introducing a time delay between the stimulus and a post-stimulus image; capturing the post-stimulus image of the target tissue; and producing a processed image based on a comparison between the pre-stimulus image and the post-stimulus image. Also described is a system for evaluating the hemodynamic response of blood flow comprising producing a processed image based on a comparison between the pre-stimulus image and the post-stimulus image.
