After using the void volume indicator, feedback from the indicator can be used to select an absorbent article having an appropriate absorbent capacity for the person's needs.

In one embodiment, the absorbent article includes and an absorbent structure having a central portion defined by a width about 65 millimeters or less, and a length about 50 millimeters or greater, and the absorbent article having a fit factor less than about 7.0.
