One method may include, receiving, by a computing device having one or more processors and from a user device, a request for generating an neighborhood safety assessment for a desired geographic area, wherein the request is based on an assessment of a first neighborhood safety parameter of a plurality of neighborhood safety parameters; determining, by the computing device, one or more sensors associated with the desired geographic area; receiving, by the computing device in real time and from the one or more sensors, a present value for a characteristic of the first neighborhood safety parameter of the one or more neighborhood safety parameters; and generating, based on the received present value, an assessment of the first neighborhood safety parameter of the one or more neighborhood safety parameters for the desired geographic area.
