Abstract: Portland Cement Concrete with steel reinforcement mats or rods used in airport runways, highways, and other objects need to have the cement broken up for recycling or disposal and the steel mat reused or the steel recycled. The pavement removal machine lifts the concrete off a roadbed and places it on an anvil. A hammer then cracks the concrete and breaks it into small pieces, which fall away from the reinforcing steel. The concrete and the steel are then recycled. The pavement removal machine has legs which are moveable between a road working position and a transport position and can translate the frame of the machine up and down. The hammers can be gravity drop or powered. The steel can be cut into sections as the pavement is continuously torn up at a rate of about 1 lane mile per day.

Abstract: The concrete product recycling machine is transportable to job sites for breaking apart concrete panels and recycling the concrete and the steel reinforcement therein. The concrete panel recycling machine has a conveyor to transport the panels to rest on top of an anvil. The anvil supports the panel for a hammer to engage the panel on the anvil such that the energy imparted by the hammer is reflected by the anvil and breaks apart the concrete panel. Concrete aggregate produced by the hammer fall onto a conveyor thereunder to transport the concrete for recycling. The hammer may traverse the width of the panel to reach all portions of the surface. The steel reinforcement rods can be sawed into manageable and saleable lengths. The steel can be dropped into a container for removal by scrap dealers.

Abstract: The hammer impact cracks the concrete, then separates the concrete from the steel and creates concrete aggregate. The hammer has a pair of arms with an angled portion for sliding on an angled portion of guide plates, which have a long surface in contact with the hammer arms to provide a stable movement of the hammer without sideways motions. The hammer can be a gravity drop hammer or a compressed gas accelerated hammer. The hammer can pivot to adjust the blows to be perpendicular to the surface being impacted. The pivot also helps in retracting the hammer from the concrete to unjam it therefrom particularly when the concrete is moving relative to the hammer. The pivotable hammer is useful for transporting the hammer and for maintenance work on the hammer. The hammer has teeth to increase the shock of impact to crack and then break the concrete along the cracks.

Abstract: The concrete pipe recycling machine is transportable to job sites for breaking apart concrete pipe and recycling the concrete and the steel reinforcement therein. The concrete pipe recycling machine has a mandrel type anvil which presses the top of the pipe upward toward a hammer which impacts the outside of the pipe such that the energy imparted by the hammer is reflected by the anvil and breaks down the concrete. The concrete aggregate processed by the hammer fall through open mesh with a conveyor thereunder to transport the concrete pieces for recycling. The anvil rotates in gear fashion to rotate the pipe and the hammer traverses axially to reach all portions of the surface of the pipe. The anvil support opens to admit a new pipe to be recycled and to release the steel cage inside of the pipe when the concrete is removed therefrom.
