Patent number: 11037226Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for identifying top attributes are presented. Text content from an electronic document describing a product is extracted. A plurality of attributes associated with the product are identified using the extracted text content. A descriptor word proximate to each of the plurality of attributes in the extracted text content is detected. A weight is assigned to each descriptor word proximate to each of the plurality of attributes. The plurality of attributes are ranked based on the weight of the descriptor word proximate to each of the plurality of attributes. A predetermined number of top ranked attributes from the plurality of attributes are caused to be presented. Further, an image associated with each of the top ranked attributes is determined, the image being designated as a visual representation of the corresponding top ranked attribute. The image is caused to be displayed in association with the product on a user interface.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2020Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Assignee: EBAY INC.Inventors: Deepak Kumar Vasthimal, Avishek Mukherjee

Publication number: 20200244761Abstract: Systems and methods for passive social media contact engagement are provided. In example embodiments, a publication that represents an item available for purchase is identified. An item image for the publication is accessed. A profile image using the item image is generated. The profile image is assigned to an entity profile, corresponding to an entity associated with the publication, of a social networking service. The assignment of the profile image causes the profile image to be displayed to members of the social networking service in place of a member profile image.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2020Publication date: July 30, 2020Inventors: Deepak Kumar Vasthimal, Avishek Mukherjee

Publication number: 20200183988Abstract: An experimentation platform controls testing of features by an application server. Based on a user identifier, the experimentation platform determines which feature should be provided, and the application server provides the corresponding version of a user interface. If the user behavior data shows that using a tested feature results in an improvement, the tested feature will be adopted. To determine whether or not an improvement is observed, a statistically significant amount of data is gathered. The experimentation platform gathers data regarding user behavior for the feature versions and, in response, adjusts the frequency at which each version is served. Providing the proposed version to an increased percentage of users decreases the total number of page serves required to gather statistically significant data. The experimentation platform may provide an updated projected time to completion of testing based on the changed percentage of users receiving the proposed version.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2018Publication date: June 11, 2020Inventors: Deepak Kumar Vasthimal, Pavan Kumar Srirama, Arun Kumar Akkinapalli

Publication number: 20190370794Abstract: In various example embodiments, a machine is configured to redirect completion of a transaction to a trusted device. For example, the machine determines that a page involving the transaction is being displayed in a user interface of a first device. The page may be associated with the product or service. The machine identifies an interruption of the displaying of the page in the user interface of the first device. The machine identifies a second device that is trusted by the user. The machine transmits a communication including a notification to the second device. The notification indicates the transaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2019Publication date: December 5, 2019Inventors: Sudeep Kumar, Deepak Kumar Vasthimal

Publication number: 20190279281Abstract: A network service or application can receive dietary goals or conditions for a user or group of users. The network can determine threshold dietary amounts that users can receive over a predetermined time period to satisfy the goals or conditions. The network can monitor user consumption over the predetermined time period by collecting data from heterogeneous data streams (e.g., data associated with different structures, data types, types of data store, sources, processing rates, etc.), processing the data, storing the data using a distributive processing framework, and exposing optimized views into the data to provide smart virtual shopping cart functionality. The network can evaluate user consumption and food items placed into a virtual shopping cart to determine whether purchasing the items satisfy the thresholds, and if not, issue warnings, provide recommendations for substitute food items, and/or take other appropriate actions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2018Publication date: September 12, 2019Inventors: Sudeep Kumar, Deepak Kumar Vasthimal

Publication number: 20190050920Abstract: Systems, methods and media are provided for operating a group purchase event in a networked system. An example method comprises initiating a digital instance of a group purchase event and defining a target balance, identifying a potential contributor list from a social or community group, transmitting an electronic communication to first and second parties on the potential contributor list via an electronic communication pathway, and based on a received response to the electronic communication, authorizing the first and second parties to participate in the group purchase event. One example identifies and presents, in a display of an electronic device, a list of items purchasable at prices less than or equal to a current balance of a money pool, and monitors changes in the current balance. Based on a change in the current balance, the displayed list of items is dynamically updated.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2018Publication date: February 14, 2019Inventors: Sudeep Kumar, Deepak Kumar Vasthimal

Publication number: 20180012283Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for generating item recommendations based on sensor data captured by sensors on client machines. A server processes collected sensor data to estimate user physical activity based on sensor data patterns, and forms a user profile based on the estimated user physical activity. The server associates the user profile with relevant product or service recommendations, based on previous purchases by a user or by others matching the user profile. The user may make a purchase based on the displayed recommendations or forward the recommendations to others. The recommendations include discounts based on the user profile. Subsequent sensor data showing satisfaction with a purchased item serves as a testimonial to user satisfaction with the item. The sensor data may be collected from a user in an augmented or virtual reality system, and the recommendations may be displayed in such a system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2016Publication date: January 11, 2018Inventors: Subrahmanya Harve, Deepak Kumar Vasthimal
