  • Publication number: 20240426542
Abstract: A filter assembly for a refrigerator includes a filter, a port, and a cam. The filter has a protrusion extending therefrom. The port is configured to engage the filter. The port is configured to move to transition the filter to an activated position. The port is configured to move to transition the filter to a deactivated position. The cam is configured to interfere with the protrusion in response to a partial connection between the filter and the port to prevent the filter from transitioning to the activated position. The cam is configured to provide clearance for the protrusion in response to a full connection between the filter and the port to facilitate the filter transitioning to the activated position.

  • Patent number: 12123638
Abstract: A refrigerator includes a filter, a receiver, a manifold, and a cam. The filter has a handle extending therefrom. The receiver defines a cavity configured to receive the filter. The manifold is configured to engage an opposing end of the filter relative to the handle via axial rotation of the filter. The manifold is configured to pivot upward to transition the filter to an activated position. The manifold is configured to pivot downward to transition the filter to a deactivated position. The cam is configured to interfere with the handle in response to partial axial rotation of the filter to prevent the filter from pivoting upward to the activated position. The cam is configured to provide clearance for the handle in response to full axial rotation of the filter to facilitate the filter pivoting upward to the activated position.

  • Publication number: 20230175764
Abstract: A storage assembly including a vacuum insulated cabinet, a refrigeration system, and a drawer. The vacuum insulated cabinet is formed by a number of insulated panels. The vacuum insulated cabinet and the refrigeration system collectively form a refrigerated compartment. The drawer is configured to move between an open position, in which an interior portion of the drawer is accessible, and a closed position, in which the drawer is disposed in the refrigerated compartment and the interior portion of the drawer is inaccessible. The refrigeration system includes a first heat exchanger, including one of a thermoelectric device or an evaporator, disposed between the drawer and a rear portion of the insulated cabinet, and a second heat exchanger, including one of a condenser or thermoelectric device, disposed in a machine compartment adjacent to the refrigerated compartment.
