  • Publication number: 20210077276
Abstract: The present disclosure generally discloses instruments and methods of using those instruments for performing various aspects of ankle replacement surgery. In one embodiment, an alignment assembly for adjusting a position of a guide tool relative to a patient is provided. The alignment assembly includes a proximal housing; a distal housing configured to be connected to the guide tool; and at least one linkage system configured to adjust a relative angle between at least two portions of the alignment assembly. A surgical guide wire is also disclosed. The surgical guide wire includes a distal tip having a tapered or trocar end configured for insertion into a bone; a distal region adjacent to the distal tip; a transition region adjacent to the distal region; and a proximal region adjacent to the transition region.

  • Publication number: 20180344393
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to treating diseased tissue with ablation therapy. In an embodiment, an apparatus comprises a catheter having an elongate body extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The apparatus further includes a balloon structure arranged proximal to the distal end of the catheter, wherein the balloon structure has a first portion with a first permeability and a second portion with a second permeability such that the first permeability is different than the second permeability. In addition, the apparatus includes a first electrode arranged on or within the balloon structure and configured to: transmit current through the first portion, receive current transmitted through the first portion or both.

  • Publication number: 20160089810
Abstract: A method of detecting and mitigating kickback in a saw includes identification of a running average speed (RPM) of a saw blade, the speed at a given time sample relative to the running average speed, the percentage change in speed from one speed sample to the previous speed sample, and the percentage change in average speed based on the current speed of the saw blade. If the identified speed profile from the samples indicates a kickback is imminent, then the saw identifies an imminent kickback event and removes power from the saw motor to mitigate kickback.
