  • Patent number: 9497828
Abstract: A low-voltage power supply apparatus (900A) providing power to an neutral-less two-wire electronically controlled switch, including a first power supply (901) having a first DC bus (910+, 910?) electronically coupled to a rectifier bridge (906) and a first flyback converter (991). The rectifier bridge receives an AC signal from an AC source and provides a first DC voltage at the first DC bus, the first flyback converter receives the DC voltage and outputs a first low-voltage signal (Vout). A second power supply (905) having a second DC bus (909+, 909?) is electronically coupled to a controllable rectifier bridge (966) and a second flyback converter (971). The controllable rectifier bridge receives the AC signal from the AC source and provides a second DC voltage at the second DC bus. The second flyback converter receives the second DC voltage and outputs a second low-voltage signal (Vout).

  • Patent number: 9380685
Abstract: A device provides a bypass path for leakage current of a neutral-less controller in a lighting control system for selectively supplying line voltage to a load. The device includes a dummy load, a voltage sensor, a bypass switch, a switch controller and a delay timer. The voltage sensor senses line voltage at an output of the neutral-less controller. The bypass switch selectively connects the dummy load in parallel with the lighting load. The switch controller activates the bypass switch to connect the dummy load in parallel with the lighting load when the line voltage is low, providing a bypass path for the leakage current, and deactivates the bypass switch after a delay period to disconnect the dummy load from being in parallel with the lighting load when the line voltage is high. The delay timer implements the delay period in response to the line voltage transitioning from low to high.

  • Publication number: 20100327759
Abstract: An electronic ballast for supplying a lamp load is described. The electronic ballast comprises an inverter arranged in a half-bridge configuration for providing an AC voltage and at least one lamp load circuit. The inverter comprises an upper switch, connected to a DC terminal for receiving a DC supply voltage, and a first lower switch arranged in a half-bridge configuration for generating an AC voltage at an inverter terminal of the inverter. A first diode and a second lower switch are connected in series. This series arrangement is connected in parallel with the first lower switch. A lamp load circuit for supplying the lamp load is connected to a node between the first diode and the second lower switch. When the inverter supplies a fluorescent lamp, and the lamp load circuit comprises a heating circuit for heating an electrode of the fluorescent lamp, the heating circuit includes a heating transformer and a second lower switch connected in parallel with the primary winding of the transformer.
