  • Patent number: 9891789
Abstract: A video surveillance system having a plurality of video-type cameras includes a graphical user interface which is not list driven but provides a background image of a portion of the region being monitored, and, event or incident identifiers associated with the provided background image. The event or incident identifiers are presented semi-transparently and overlay the background image. Each of the incident identifiers includes a selectable icon. Selecting the icon switches to a different background image and presents a different foreground group of incidents or events associated with the different background image. The various events or incidents can be explored in the context of the background image. In addition with selecting the icons user can also select the event or incident identifier to see the corresponding background image. Once the background image is updated, user can start play the video directly in the same view.

  • Publication number: 20180041431
Abstract: A virtualized Internet Protocol (IP) packet processing system is provided. In this regard, in one aspect, a computing circuit for processing IP packets is shared among a plurality of virtual clients. The computing circuit includes a plurality of hardware functional blocks each configured to perform a predefined IP packet processing function. In another aspect, a virtual channel is created for each of the virtual clients and assigned with one or more of the hardware functional blocks. In this regard, IP packets associated with each of the virtual clients may be processed by respective assigned hardware functional blocks based on a specified processing sequence. By sharing the computing circuit among the virtual clients and assigning respective hardware functional blocks to each virtual client, it is possible to optimize processing efficiency of the computing circuit, thus improving throughput, latency, and power consumption of the virtualized IP packet processing system.

  • Publication number: 20180041460
Abstract: A system and method for aggregating user response data in a communication system such as an instant messaging (IM system). Aggregation is performed according to a hierarchical group addressing structure into which users are arranged. Data may be input, output and distributed in a structured data format. Aggregating information comprises collating, in each group in the hierarchical group addressing structure, information contained in responses from individual users in that group. Aggregating said information may further comprise collating, for each group in the hierarchical group addressing structure, information contained in responses from all child groups subordinate to that group. Because the grouping structure for addressing or routing is pre-existing, no additional grouping or categorising of individuals or responses is required.

  • Publication number: 20180041614
Abstract: Hardware-based packet processing circuitry is provided. In this regard, hardware-based packet processing circuitry includes header processing circuitry and payload processing circuitry. The hardware-based packet processing circuitry receives a header portion and a payload portion of an incoming packet in a first packet format. The header processing circuitry and the payload processing circuitry process the header portion and the payload portion to form a processed header portion and a processed payload portion, respectively. The hardware-based packet processing circuitry generates an outgoing packet in a second packet format based on the processed header portion and the processed payload portion. By processing the incoming packet separately in the header processing circuitry and the payload processing circuitry, it is possible to accelerate selected steps (e.g., ciphering/deciphering, compression/de-compression, checksum, etc.

  • Publication number: 20180041522
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for recommending content of a predefined category to an account holder, detecting spam applications, or account holders based on the account holder application graphs. The system receives information corresponding to applications executing on the client device of the account holders and generates an application graph for each account holder that includes a list of predefined application categories that are preferred by the account holder. For each predefined category, a list of account holders preferring content relevant to that category is predicted based on the set of generated application graphs. Some application graphs may be detected as spam application graphs by comparing the generated application graphs with a set of predefined spam application graphs. Alternatively, if the generated application graph does not match the predefined spam application graphs, they are compared to a set of application graphs from a database to find similar application graphs.

  • Patent number: 9886357
Abstract: An approach is provided in which a system selects a first processor as a master Time of Day (TOD) processor in a first TOD topology. The system then assigns a second processor as an alternate master TOD processor to a second TOD topology based upon determining that the second processor is on a different node than the first processor. The system configures to the first TOD topology and, when the system detects a TOD failure requiring a topology switch, the system re-configures to the second TOD topology.

  • Publication number: 20180032768
Abstract: Systems and methods for backscatter communications are provided that employ a backscatter reader to transmit a carrier signal to multiple backscatter tags having heterogeneous hardware and specifications. In response to receiving the carrier, the tags encode data into the received signal and, concurrently, transmit their respective backscattered signal to the reader. The concurrent signals are received by the reader as a combined signal. The reader detects edges in the received signal, based on the corresponding in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) signals. The edges are then assigned to streams based on the offset or transmission rate of the tags. In some cases, the reader can detect edge collisions. These collisions can be resolved by causing the colliding signals to be retransmitted or by separating the colliding signals. The individual streams corresponding to each of the tags can then be decoded to identify the originally transmitted data from each tag.

  • Publication number: 20180028299
Abstract: A system and method of administrating conventional hyperbaric chamber therapy as well as supplemental oxygen therapy at ambient conditions to an animal using a veterinary hyperbaric chamber. The hyperbaric chamber can function in its usual mode of operation; i.e., providing oxygen at greater than atmospheric pressure and also in a second mode of operation to administer supplemental oxygen thereafter at ambient pressure conditions. In the second mode of operation, the method and apparatus may deliver approximately 80 liters per minute continuous flow of 0.21 through 1.0 FI02 adjustable oxygen gas mixture. The mixture is delivered at ambient pressure from one end of the chamber, flows across the animal positioned within the hyperbaric chamber, and exits at the opposite end for exhaust to ambient conditions. A high flow gas mixture is utilized to maintain accurate gas mixture concentrations with fluctuating supply pressures of medical air and medical oxygen gases.
