    Abstract: The present invention relates to novel polymorph of moxifloxacin hydrochloride, processes for its preparation and to pharmaceutical compositions containing it. Thus, for example moxifloxacin hydrochloride is suspended in methanol and water and the pH is adjusted to 1.0-2.0 with concentrated hydrochloric acid at 25° C. and the separated solid is collected and dried to obtain moxifloxacin hydrochloride monohydrate polymorph IV.
