  • Publication number: 20240121600
Abstract: A communication management resource receives input from a first wireless network. The input is generated in response to a mobile communication device requesting use of wireless services from the first wireless network; the first wireless network is operated by a first service provider. The communication management resource (such as in or associated with a second wireless network) allocates a network address for use by the mobile communication device. The network address is allocated by an allocation management resource in the second wireless network, which is operated by a second service provider. The communication management resource then communicates the allocated network address from the second wireless network through the first wireless network to the mobile communication device. The mobile communication device uses the network address to communicate through the first wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20240098490
Abstract: A customer communications device of a first network operator (H-MVNO) detects a network identifier from an access point of a second network (MNO) indicating that the second network provides access for first network devices in accordance with a sharing agreement. The device registers via the access point of the second network. Authentication and authorization for the device is performed by a first network security entity on behalf second network, with the device using a restricted use first IP address acquired from a DHCP in the second network. The home network (H-MVNO) sets up the session QoS from the home PCF and home SMF toward the visiting network SMF. The visiting network SMF executes the traffic QoS class via the visiting UPF with the device using a second IP address acquired from a DHCP in the second network for user plane data traffic through the second network.

  • Patent number: 11924807
Abstract: A wireless network environment includes user equipment. A communication management resource in the user equipment establishes a wireless communication link between the user equipment and a first wireless station. The first wireless station provides the user equipment access to a remote network. Based on operating conditions of the user equipment, the communication management resource initiates execution of a paging notification retrieval function on the user equipment to retrieve paging notifications. Via the executed function (such as an application executed on the user equipment), and one or more request messages for paging notifications, the communication management resource communicates with a remote entity to retrieve the paging notifications.

  • Patent number: 11877025
Abstract: A content delivery network (CDN) includes UE gateways, a service switch (SS) mesh network, and server gateways. The CDN nodes maintain cache lists of mappings identifying corresponding upstream system nodes for content items available at content servers connected to the server gateways. When a CDN node receives an upstream service instance request for a specific content item by a corresponding UE connected to a UE gateway, upon determining that a mapping for the specific content item is in its cache list, the CDN node forwards the upstream service instance request to the corresponding upstream system node as part of a process of defining a downstream data path for the specific content item from the corresponding content server to the corresponding UE. The CDN enables service-level content delivery at lower levels of latency than conventional DNS-based systems.

  • Publication number: 20230379911
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to methods, apparatus, systems, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus providing a local, self-organizing, and automatic unlicensed channel(s) exclusion enforcement mechanism wherein a frequency coordination (AFC) function at a network device associated with an access point (AP), such as a home/business gateway including an AP.

  • Publication number: 20230125058
Abstract: Based on a service agreement between a first wireless network provider and a content provider, a user, who subscribes to a second wireless network provider that does not have a roaming agreement with the first wireless network provider, can use an unauthenticated wireless device to receive content from a content system of the content provider via a wireless network of the first wireless network provider. In certain embodiments, the unauthenticated wireless device communicates with an orchestration node of the wireless network using encapsulated messages transmitted via a logical tunnel that bypass nodes of the wireless network that would otherwise prevent a network connection from being established between the unauthenticated wireless device and the wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20130051244
Abstract: A SON algorithm is described in which performance targets are defined and evaluated. The evaluation of a performance target includes using or setting an evaluation period defining a time period over which the performance target is evaluated and using or setting an evaluation frequency defining how often the performance target is evaluated. The performance targets are used for optimising a configuration of a mobile telecommunication system.

  • Publication number: 20120208492
Abstract: There is proposed a mechanism by means of which an emergency message is generated in a movable object, such as a vehicle, and transmitted to an emergency recipient. Specific information comprising location information of the movable object is determined and processed so as to form an additional information portion for an emergency message based on a data format of an emergency alerting and warning protocol, such as Common Alerting Protocol (CAP). The thus created emergency message is immediately sent to a recipient in case an emergency event is detected. On the recipient side, the location information are retrieved from the emergency message and processed for providing additional information allowing an improved reaction on the emergency.

  • Publication number: 20110046874
Abstract: Assistance data specifications and protocols for navigation systems in cellular networks and/or other networks. These specifications and protocols do not impact system-specific control plane protocols. According to various embodiments, a bearer and satellite system-independent meta structure may be protected for periodic and/or continuous transfer, e.g., streaming, of assistance data in a network. As a result, the need for the arrangement of multiple individual sub sessions may be reduced or eliminated in various embodiments.
