  • Patent number: 5037335
Abstract: An electrical connector is designed for use in attaching electrical cables to side mounted battery terminals which utilize a threaded bolt to secure the vehicle battery cables to the terminal. One embodiment of the connector comprises an elongated housing presenting a longitudinal slot to receive the battery cable securing bolt. Longitudinal movement of the housing permits flanges to become engaged with the bolt and direct the bolt into an operative position whereby the bolt is contacted by conductive means within the connector housing. The connector housing may either be permanently affixed to a current carrying cable or alternatively may have the spring clamp jaws of a battery jumper cable set applied to the exterior of the housing for transfer of current. Alternative embodiments are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4922771
Abstract: A new method and an apparatus for manually rotating the adjusting screw mechanism or star wheel of a vehicle wheel brake is adapted to displace the pawl of the brake adjusting mechanism and disengage it from the star wheel, thereby allowing rotation of the star wheel while the pawl remains disengaged through the use of a single tool, leaving both hands of the mechanic free to manipulate the brake tool.

  • Patent number: 4266362
Abstract: An animal toss trap includes an enclosure having openings for animal entry therethrough. A generally elongated gate displaced from these openings and positioned within the enclosure presents an animal capture compartment therebeyond. In a normal gate position, the horizontally disposed spikes project from one end of the gate towards a wall of the enclosure so as to present a means of entry or path into the animal capture compartment. An animal on initial progression through this path pushes against the spike tips causing the gate to swing in response thereto. During subsequent animal movement the discomfort of the spiked tips upon the side of the animal further urges the animal through the forward path and into the capture compartment. The gate, being spring biased, returns to a normal position after the above animal entry. A lock, released by an animal upon entry into the path is provided to prevent the gate from being opened by a previously captured animal.

  • Patent number: 4151673
Abstract: An animal trap includes a box-like housing having a capture compartment and a storage compartment. An elevated access opening is presented on one side of the housing and is adjacent to a primary platform which is pivotally mounted in the capture compartment and has a normal, level condition and a tilted, capture position. In its normal condition, the primary platform blocks passage to the storage compartment; in its tilted position the elevated access opening is blocked and the storage compartment is accessible. A tilt booster is carried by the primary platform and presents a secondary platform or plank arranged on a fixed fulcrum in a manner to cause sudden tilting of the primary platform under the weight of an animal and blocks its escape.
