Abstract: An installation for treating articles with radiation, the installation comprising a structure having pivotally mounted thereon an inlet starwheel and an outlet starwheel respectively arranged facing an inlet and an outlet of a shielded enclosure in which there are mounted at least one pivotal treatment starwheel and at least one electron emitter in the vicinity of the treatment starwheel. The installation comprises a linear inlet conveyor and a linear outlet conveyor extending inside the shielded enclosure respectively facing the inlet and the outlet, the linear conveyors each comprising a respective transporter surrounding a shielded wall forming a baffle.

Abstract: An aseptic packaging installation in individual containers, comprising a stand on which there is mounted an enclosure (3) that has a floor (4) with an overhead ceiling (6) and that receives at least one rotatable platform (7) in a packaging zone (Z1) subjected to a sterile laminar stream flowing vertically from the ceiling of the packaging zone at a rate that is adapted to establish in the packaging zone a first pressure (P1) that is greater than the surrounding pressure, the installation being characterized in that the enclosure is provided with laminar stream exhaust means for removing the laminar stream from the packaging zone via a buffer zone extending between the packaging zone and the floor.

Abstract: A method of sterilizing containers by means of an electron gun, the method comprising the steps of inserting the gun into an opening of the container and of applying electron bombardment, and also the step of orienting the container so that it has its opening directed downwards prior to inserting the gun therein. The invention also provides an installation for implementing the method.

Abstract: The method of aseptically treating containers in accordance with the invention comprises the step of subjecting the containers while held upside-down in a heat treatment station to steam at 140° C. for 2 s to 20 s and then in subjecting the containers in a station to a disinfectant mixture comprising peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, and water raised to a maximum temperature of 60° C.
