  • Patent number: 6627003
Abstract: A method of forming a shimming body for a NMR assembly is provided. A magnetizable metal powder of known magnetic properties is provided. The powder is uniformly dispersed into a non-magnetic material to form a mixture having a selected uniform density. A selected weight of magnetic material is determined for a particular installation of an NMR assembly. The mixture is heated. A selected volume corresponding to the selected weight of magnetic material is extruded into a container. The mixture is cooled to form a shimming body.

  • Patent number: 5597423
Abstract: A method to provide large sheets of Nb.sub.3 Sn superconducting material suitable for use as a superconducting gradient shield in a magnetic resonance imaging system magnet by heating an anodized Nb-1 Zr sheet, tin dipping and reacting the sheet, and subsequently quenching the sheet in a purged atmosphere to provide an improved time constant and lowered Jc heating when used in a superconducting magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 4499152
Abstract: A metal-clad laminate having special utility in the production of high resolution printed circuit patterns and preparation of the laminate are described. The laminate preferably comprises a resin-bonded, glass-reinforced substrate, a layer of coupling agent covering and bonded to a major surface of the substrate, a layer of ultra-thin copper adjacent the layer of coupling agent, and a composite bonding layer disposed between the copper layer and the layer of coupling agent. The composite bonding layer comprises copper alloyed with at least one non-copper metal and oxide material of the non-copper metal.

  • Patent number: 4452664
Abstract: A low temperature (about 0.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C.) method is disclosed for forming an ultrathin film of copper on an aluminum carrier sheet. By this method, which employs matte finish aluminum foil, the peel strength for separating the aluminum carrier from the copper film can be preset at a desired value between 0.1 and 2 pounds per inch.
