  • Publication number: 20230230399
Abstract: A system and method for reducing the responsibility of the user significantly by applying an optical system that can identify container like sample tubes with respect to their characteristics, e.g., shapes and inner dimensions, from their visual properties by capturing images from a rack comprising container and processing said images for reliably identifying a container tyle.

  • Publication number: 20230139694
Abstract: Operations performed according to the example techniques described herein include controlling a probe to pierce a stopper of a container containing a substance, where the stopper provides an air-tight seal for the container, and where the air-tight seal supports an internal pressure in the container. The operations also include detecting the internal pressure based on information from a pressure sensor; determining that the internal pressure is not at a target pressure and, based on determining that the internal pressure is not at the target pressure, controlling the probe either to aspirate air from the container or to dispense air into the container in order to move the internal pressure toward the target pressure.

  • Publication number: 20040043398
Abstract: A device for performing diagnostic and analytical assays is provided which includes a platform and a plurality of pins extending therefrom, the pins being adapted to be insertable into a reagent repository and having a ligand attached thereto, the ligand being reactive with a target reagent to form a complex when placed in contact therewith, the ligand portion of the complex remaining substantially attached to the pins during an analytic measurement. The pins may further include sensors and/or transmitters for real-time monitoring and control of a reaction.

  • Patent number: 6126944
Abstract: Novel baculovirus expression vectors and recombinant antigens for detecting, type-specific herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection have been made. Diagnostic kits and assays for detecting type-specific HSV infection have been described. High level production of foreign proteins in substantially pure form are now made possible by the novel baculoviruses of the present invention.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 7, 1995
Date of Patent: October 3, 2000
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services
Inventors: Philip E. Pellett, Demetrio Sanchez-Martinez
  • Patent number: 6100072
Abstract: Liquid and lyophilized reagents for determining prothrombin time and/or fibrinogen levels in a plasma sample are disclosed. The reagents preferably are based on recombinant rabbit tissue factor. Also disclosed is a purified preparation of recombinant rabbit tissue factor having unique properties, and a novel method for making PT reagents.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 22, 1998
Date of Patent: August 8, 2000
