  • Patent number: 4928490
Abstract: This invention relates to a power turbine system which consists of a first power turbine and a second compressor turbine. Both turbines are contained in the same housing and each turbine is connected to an individual shaft. The shafts of each turbine are interconnected by the individual gears of the gear housing system. An external energy source provides heat energy to the working fluid which enters and drives the first power turbine. The second compressor turbine receives the hot exhaust fluid of the first power turbine and compresses and circulates the gaseous fluid as it leaves the outlet of the second compressor turbine and the outlet of the turbine housing. The working fluid then flows to the inlet of the condenser. This invention is designed to allow the second compressor turbine to rotate more often than the first power turbine as a result of the gears and shafts located in the gear housing system.

  • Patent number: 4926644
Abstract: This invention consists of a medium power plant system and a low power plant system with individual closed loops. The medium power plant system recaptures heat energy from any source of heat fluid pressure. The exhaust heat energy of the medium power plant system, through a heat exchange relationship, is used to drive the individual closed loops of the low power plant system. The exhaust heat energy of the low power plant system with individual closed loops, through a heat exchange relationship, is recycled and used to preheat the working fluid inside the closed loop prior to obtaining additional exhaust heat energy from the medium power plant system. The medium power plant system and the low power plant system with individual closed loops contains a plurality of N turbine housing, where N is a whole number greater than one. Each turbine housing contains a power turbine and a compressor turbine.

  • Patent number: 4894984
Abstract: The claimed engine is a gas turbine power plant having a conventional gas turbine system, a medium power plant system and a low power plant closed loop system. The turbines used in the medium and low power plant systems are designed to allow a heat exchange relationship between the aforementioned turbines and another part of the system. A heater, using an external energy source, provides heat energy to drive the conventional gas turbine system. The hot exhaust fluid of the gas turbine flows through a conduit where it gives up heat energy, through a heat exchange relationship, to the turbines of the medium power plant system, therefore providing the heat energy to drive those turbines. The exhaust fluid of the gas turbine having given up most of its heat energy, is released into the environment.

  • Patent number: 4733537
Abstract: A turbine power plant consisting of a closed loop steam turbine system and a closed loop exhaust turbine system. An external fuel source is used to drive the steam turbine system. The heat energy of the hot exhaust fluid of the steam turbine system is transferred to the exhaust turbine system, therefore driving the exhaust turbine system. The turbines used in this invention are designed to allow a heat exchange relationship between the closed loop cycle of the steam turbine system and the closed loop cycles of the exhaust turbine system. In the closed loop steam turbine system, the hot exhaust fluid of the steam turbine system flows through a conduit where it gives up heat energy to the turbines of the exhaust turbine system, prior to reaching a condenser. The working fluid, now in a liquid phase, flows through a pump and then collects heat energy from the exhaust fluid of the turbines in the exhaust turbine system, preheating the working fluid prior to reaching a heater and the steam turbine.

  • Patent number: 4502277
Abstract: A turbine power plant system consisting of three sub-systems; a gas turbine sub-system, an exhaust turbine sub-system, and a steam turbine sub-system. The three turbine sub-systems use one external fuel source which is used to drive the turbine of the gas turbine sub-system. Hot exhaust fluid from the gas turbine sub-system is used to drive the turbines of the exhaust turbine sub-system and heat energy from the combustion chamber of the gas turbine sub-system is used to drive the turbine of the steam turbine sub-system. Each sub-system has a generator. In the gas turbine sub-system, air flows through several compressors and a combustion chamber and drives the gas turbine.

  • Patent number: 4420941
Abstract: A cooling system operated by a pair of turbines on the same drive shaft. Some of the hot exhaust fluid from both turbines goes through corresponding heat exchangers to a condenser and from the condenser back through these heat exchangers and a heater to inlets to the turbines. The remainder of the hot turbine exhaust fluid flows through a pressure regulating valve to an additional heat exchanger and from there through a condenser to several evaporators, which are connected in parallel, and from these evaporators through a pressure regulating valve back through the additional heat exchanger and a compressor to inlets to the turbines.

  • Patent number: 4378678
Abstract: The present turbine system has two mechanically interconnected turbines, each having a closed loop fluid passageway connecting its outlet to its inlet for recirculating the turbine fluid. The hot exhaust from each turbine heats the inlet fluid to the other turbine in a heat exchanger in the corresponding loop. A cooler is connected to another heat exchanger in each loop to cool the turbine exhaust after it has heated the inlet fluid for the other turbine. A heater is connected in each loop just ahead of the turbine inlet to supply additional heat to the inlet fluid.
