Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with a server-centric virtual file system (VFS) that securely provides version control for file system objects associated with the VFS are described. One example system includes a VFS logic to provide virtual access to file system objects associated with a server. The VFS logic may receive a file handle from an NFS server in response to a VFS mount request made by a client computing system. The example system may also include a version logic that encodes a workspace identifier and a file system object identifier into the provided file handle. The version logic then provides file-handle based version control for the set of file system objects.

Abstract: A data storage system for storing a number of versions of a number of objects, the versions of the objects being arranged in branch groups, wherein at least one version of at least one object defines a branch group, and wherein the versions of the objects are stored in accordance with their branch group, the system comprising an object versions table operable to include information relating to each version of each object and identifying, for each version of each object, a branch group to which the version of the object belongs and an object branches table operable to include information relating to each branch group and identifying, for each branch group, each version of each object that belongs to the branch group.

Abstract: A paper making machine foil is provided with one or more of the following: a narrow angle (from 14.degree. to 23.degree.) forwardly projecting doctoring nose providing a water skimming edge, a layer of wear resisting material spaced rearwardly from the skimming edge and a wear resisting facing on and along an under surface of the nose and providing a self-sharpening water stripping tip for the skimming edge, and a metal (stainless steel) body provided with a downwardly opening recess within which is mounted a mounting member (rigid plastic) having a downwardly opening shaped groove receptive of a sliding connection for mounting the foil in a paper making machine.

Abstract: A fourdrinier table assembly of a length to underlie a substantial portion of the forming length of a traveling fourdrinier wire in a paper making machine, and having a plurality of supporting rails carried by supporting structure in side-to-side spaced relation to one another and arranged to span the forming length portion in the machine direction below the fourdrinier wire, a series of elongate dewatering foils being carried by and extending in cross machine direction across the supporting rails in spaced relation to one another along the length of the rails and adapted to act in dewatering relation with respect to the underside of the traveling fourdrinier wire. The foils are retained adjustably and replaceably on the rails. The supporting structure for the rails comprises beams extending in cross machine direction and spaced from one another in the machine direction.

Abstract: A paper machine screening apparatus generally includes a centrifugal pump member mounted for rotation about the axis of a tubular screen plate. A delivery passageway extends concentrically about the pump impeller for receiving pumped stock flow and includes an annular axially extending passage formed between a ribbed hub surface of the pump and the screen. Flow through the screen is passed from the screening apparatus to headboxes. Downstream of the annular passage is an end cavity for receiving particles unable to pass through the screen holes which are washed into the end cavity by the axial flow through the annular passage. The ribbings on the hub surface serve to agitate the stock flow to raise pressure forces tending to force flow out through the screen holes.

Abstract: Members, such as paper machine forming board drainage foils, and the like, are adapted to be mounted in a predetermined substantially accurate attitude unaffected by possible irregularities on a metallic supporting structure, by providing the supporting structure with fixedly secured non-warping nonmetallic base means which is machined substantially accurately to receive and mount the members.
