  • Patent number: 11434840
Abstract: A method for increasing a resolution of a magnetic sensor for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The sensor delivers an electrical synchronization signal having successive, spaced-apart crenels, one of the rising or falling edges of which corresponds to a respective angle of rotation of the element of the engine. A synchronization voltage range is interposed between an upper voltage modulation range above and a lower voltage modulation range below the upper and lower voltage of the synchronization range, respectively, the electrical signal in each of the lower and upper modulation ranges being modulated so as to include additional crenels, which are supplementary to the crenels of the synchronization signal, corresponding to periodic clock crenels with a period dependent on engine speed, an angle of rotation being identified by one of the rising or falling edges of each additional crenel.

  • Publication number: 20220252484
Abstract: A method for authorizing an update of a switching threshold of a magnetic-field sensor for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, in order to ensure an immunity of the sensor to external magnetic disturbances. The sensor detects magnetic-field variations induced by a passage of the teeth of a target in proximity to the sensor, by generating a magnetic signal exhibiting oscillations, certain of which may be due to magnetic disturbances and be not to be taken into account in the update by the sensor of the switching threshold, which is recomputed depending on a detected amplitude of at least two consecutive oscillations of the magnetic field. An update of the switching threshold is suspended when an oscillation frequency computed between the at least two consecutive oscillations is higher than a maximum oscillation frequency computed from a predetermined speed of rotation of the engine and from the number of teeth on the target.

  • Patent number: 11353346
Abstract: A method for automatic calibration of a camshaft sensor for a motor vehicle engine. The sensor includes a processing module configured to generate, from a raw signal indicative of the variations in a magnetic field which are caused by a rotation of a target and measured by a primary cell, an output signal indicative of the moments at which teeth of the target pass past the primary cell. The sensor further includes two secondary measurement cells. The calibration method therefore makes it possible to determine two different switching thresholds for each tooth from a differential signal indicative of a difference in magnetic field measurement by the secondary cells. Also disclosed are a camshaft sensor implementing such a method, and a motor vehicle including such a sensor.

Abstract: A method for automatic calibration of a camshaft sensor for a motor vehicle. The sensor includes a processing module configured to generate, from a raw signal indicative of the variations in a magnetic field which are caused by the rotation of a toothed target and measured by a cell, an output signal indicative of the moments at which the teeth pass past the cell. The calibration method makes it possible, for each tooth, to determine a switching threshold not only as a function of a local minimum and of a local maximum for the tooth during the preceding revolution of the target, but also as a function of a corrective value calculated from a local maximum and/or a local minimum of the raw signal during the passage of a preceding tooth past the cell during a new revolution.

  • Patent number: 10823588
Abstract: A method for automatic calibration of an engine camshaft sensor, the engine including at least one camshaft, a coded toothed target associated with this camshaft and a magnetic field sensor placed in the vicinity of the target to detect magnetic field variations induced by passage of the target's teeth in the vicinity of the sensor, the sensor delivering an electrical signal representative of teeth and gaps of the target depending on a predetermined switching threshold as a function of the magnetic field's amplitude, the method continuously measuring the value of the magnetic field.
