  • Publication number: 20230142564
Abstract: A couplant feeding circuit is provided. The couplant feeding circuit has a first set of walls extending from a bottom surface and a second set of walls extending from the bottom surface and between the first set of walls. A membrane extends between the first and second set of walls such that the first and second set of walls along with the membrane form a couplant cavity. The couplant feeding circuit also has a couplant port disposed in one of the first or second set of walls that allows routing of couplant to the couplant cavity. Moreover, the couplant feeding circuit also has a vacuum port disposed in one of the first or second set of walls that allows removal of at least a portion of the couplant from the couplant cavity. Furthermore, the couplant port and the vacuum port form a closed loop within the couplant feeding circuit.

  • Patent number: 9746446
Abstract: Disclosed is a probe holder for in-line inspection of the surface of bars of high value alloys. To attain full coverage of the inspected surface, the bar is rotated while either the bar or the probe holder is translated. The probe holder of the invention ensures constant probe lift-off by allowing the probe to move freely under its own weight, while constraining the motion to be only in the radial direction of the bar. The lift-off distance is defined by a spacer which is made of soft material to avoid damaging the inspected surface. Although the spacer is soft, its wear due to friction with the rotating bar is minimized by minimizing the pressure between the spacer and the bar. This is achieved by resting most of the mechanism weight on two rollers, with only the much smaller weight of the probe resting on the spacer.

  • Patent number: 8264221
Abstract: An eddy current probe assembly suitable for inspecting a test object with longitudinal shape, being passed through the assembly in the object's axial direction during an inspection session, the probe assembly comprising multiple probe modules being disposed in a radial plane and with the modules partially overlaying on each other forming an iris structure encircling an inspection zone, wherein a movement in unison of each of the probe modules closer to or further away from the center of the inspection zone makes the inspection zone enlarged or contracted. Spring tension is applied on each of the probe modules so that constant life-off in maintained between the probe modules and the test surface. Array of eddy current elements for each probe module and multiple layers of probe modules can be employed to achieve complete coverage of the test surface. The radial cross-sectional shapes of the test objects can be of round or polygonal.

  • Patent number: 8214077
Abstract: A medication dispensing system and method where the patient can have his personal console capable of receiving an insert having a tray with an array of medication compartments corresponding to respective times and dates at which the medication is prescribed to be taken. A database in the console can be set with the specified times and dates at which the medication is to be taken. When the console determines the time to dispense medication in one of the compartments has been reached, a visual and/or audible indicator can be triggered. Membranes which are to be hand-removed by the patient cover the respective compartments. A detector provided under the insert can detect across the tray whether or not the membrane corresponding to the selected medication compartment has been removed.

  • Publication number: 20120006132
Abstract: Disclosed is an acoustic probe/wedge holder that facilitates the operation of holding and sliding the probe over often non-flat test surfaces. The probe/wedge holder is configured to allow the adjustment of the probe/wedge so that the footing of the probe holder and the test surface of the probe or wedge collectively match the surface of a test object, allowing the probe or wedge to have intimate contact with the test surface and the probe holder to be stably disposed on or gliding over the surface of the test object. The surface of the test object is often of non-flat surface, such as that of a pipe.

  • Patent number: 8018228
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an NDT/NDI probe deploying a slit or a flexible joint of probe bending region, preferably between two rows of probe elements to allow free bending between rows of probe elements and along the direction of the rows of elements and to allow two adjacent rows of elements to bend individually along its own natural bending lines perpendicular to the direction of the rows of elements. Also disclosed is the use of protective flexible pads to cover the probe elements and other probe components.

  • Publication number: 20080163979
Abstract: A waterproofing membrane and uses for it. The membrane has a layer of bitumen based material on a sheet of support material, and preferably has a protective layer on the bituminous material to allow the membrane to be easily unrolled if it is shipped in a roll. It is to be installed to a surface by an adhesive coating and can be provided adhered to a board to form a waterproofing panel. The membrane can be used as an adhesive to apply a decorative facade on a wall in addition to being used for sole waterproofing purposes. The decorative facade is applied subsequently to heating the membrane, which volatilizes the protective layer and softens the bituminous layer. To increase the adhesiveness of the membrane, a tackifier such as styrene-isoprene-styrene is blended into the bituminous layer.

  • Publication number: 20070131714
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for simultaneously dispensing the content of at least two aerosol cans. The apparatus includes a support having at least two holders, a pressure mechanism, an actuator affixed to the support and operationally connected to the pressure mechanism. The pressure mechanism is operable to vary the pressure exerted on the nozzles, thereby adjusting the intensity of the outflow from the cans. Thus, the actuator enables an operator to adjust the intensity of the flow of fluid and to spray simultaneously the content of at least two aerosol cans. The present apparatus is preferably mobile and may be used to dispense adhesive substances on a surface.
