  • Patent number: 9568507
Abstract: A system and method of wireless voltage reference broadcast in a distributed energy metering system is provided. A voltage reference is determined at a distribution hub for wirelessly and transmitted in voltage reference data frames providing voltage samples and a clock synchronization from an alternating current (AC) line under measurement. Wireless metering units, each coupled to an AC load circuit, receive the voltage reference data frames wherein the current sampling clock of the wireless metering units are synchronized to a voltage sampling clock of the distribution hub for determining current samples from the respective AC load circuit to calculate energy data parameters.

  • Publication number: 20030174698
Abstract: A switch fabric architecture for a telecommunications system is described. In a basic aspect of the invention a N×N switch fabric and associated line cards are combined into a single shelf. In a 2N×2N switch fabric architecture, two shelves, each having a 2N×2N switch fabric with associated line cards, and 2:1 and 1:2 selectors are interconnected with inter-shelf cabling and in a 4N×4N switch fabric architecture, four such shelves are interconnected with appropriate inter-shelf cabling.

  • Publication number: 20020126784
Abstract: A mechanism is introduced by which programmable CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) circuits can be made to function in a fully transparent OEO wavelength switch. In a scanning mode, the CDR is programmed to each of its frequencies and checked for phase lock confirmation to the data signal mode. Once phase lock is confirmed at one of the specific CDR frequencies, then it must be verified that the CDR has locked to the main harmonic of the data signal and not to a sub-harmonic. If the CDR is locked to a sub-harmonic, it must continue to be scanned through its frequencies until it attains correct lock with the incoming data signal.

  • Publication number: 20020122223
Abstract: The light layer 1 OEO data path system architecture of the present invention provides a solution to the data opaqueness (i.e. protocol and data rate specific) of traditional OEO optical cross-connect switches (e.g. SONET/SDH OXC) and the full optical transparency issues of all optical photonic switches. More specifically, the documented light layer 1 OEO data path system architecture of the invention solves numerous identified problems for SONET/ISDH OEO cross-connect and all optical photonic switches.

  • Publication number: 20020122222
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for determining the integrity of the data signal across the switch fabric (ingress to egress of switch) and a method to select between the healthiest fabric planes in a redundant fabric system. Also, the invention provides a method of monitoring and reporting the functioning status of the back-up fabric plane at all times.
