  • Publication number: 20160364795
Abstract: A credit account is established for a merchant. A variable credit limit is set for the credit account. An indication is received that the merchant has accepted a payment account transaction to be charged to a customer's payment account. A transaction amount may be associated with the payment account transaction. The indication may also indicate that the payment account transaction has been authorized by an issuer of the customer's payment account. There may be a response in real time to the indication by instantaneously increasing the variable credit limit for the merchant's credit account by an amount that corresponds to the transaction amount.

  • Publication number: 20150161596
Abstract: A card transaction is processed at a merchant with a token in lieu of a card number (PAN) placed in an authorization message sent to a transaction processing system. The token is obtained from a tokenization service with alphanumeric characters that are not usable as the PAN in the event the merchant's system is breached. A transaction processing system receives the authorization message from the merchant and determines whether a token is present. If present, the transaction processing system requests a PAN from the tokenization service and replaces the token with the PAN.

  • Publication number: 20090125408
Abstract: A method of buying and selling goods. A system administrator maintains an inventory of goods offered by participating merchants. A purchaser selects an item from the inventory and places an order for the selected item with an agent. The agent reports the order to the administrator and a unique transaction number is allocated to the order. The purchaser makes a payment for the item to the agent and the administrator debits a sum for the item from the agent. The administrator passes the order and transaction number to a merchant who makes the item available to a recipient, against the transaction number. The administrator credits the merchant with a sum for the item when it has been acquired by the recipient.
