    Abstract: A locking fitting assembly that can be removably installed in a tapped hole on a housing and resists unintended loosening of the fitting assembly. The fitting assembly maybe installed at a mounting location for receiving the fitting assembly, and includes abase with engagement structure configured to engage corresponding structure adjacent the mounting location to secure the base against rotation. The fitting assembly further includes a nipple fitting received on the base and having first and second oppositely disposed coupling features. The first coupling feature is configured to mate with a complementary coupling feature of the housing, such as the tapped hole, whereby the nipple fitting can be sealingly secured to the housing. Locking structure disposed between the base and the nipple fitting is configured to resist relative rotation between the base and the nipple fitting.

    Abstract: A nut is prevented from turning during screwing by a body attached to one of the parts to be tightened by rivets. The body prevents the nut from rotating via a ring coupled without clearance with the nut and coupled with radial clearance to the body, in order to allow the nut to self-position itself along the axis imposed on the screw by the bores traversed by the screw. The nut can thus be a standard nut or a floating cage nut. Application to the retaining of nuts that are inaccessible and/or require a high level of security against unintentional unscrewing.

    Abstract: An instrumented, load-sensing washer that can be used on a bolted joint to facilitate determining an axial clamping load of the bolted joint. The washer includes an annular washer body having first and second oppositely disposed axial ends and an outer circumferential sidewall. At least one strain gauge is provided on the circumferential sidewall and is configured to sense a deformation of the washer body do to clamping forces of the bolted joint. The washer further includes a communication assembly operatively coupled with the at least one strain gauge. The communication assembly may include an integrated circuit adapted to receive electrical signals from the at least one strain gauge related to the axial load borne by the washer.
