  • Publication number: 20240389261
Abstract: A system for cooling a computer cabinet can include a computer cabinet having an interior space, two or more vertical rails within the interior space of the cabinet, one or more rack-mounted computer modules coupled to the vertical rails, and a baffle configured to separate the interior space of the cabinet into a first portion and a second portion. The module(s) can extend into both the first and second portions of the interior space of the cabinet. The baffle can direct air flowing into the first portion of the interior space of the cabinet through the module(s) and to the second portion of the interior space of the cabinet.

  • Publication number: 20240344736
Abstract: A modular air handling unit (AHU) system may include a set of cooling unit building blocks and a housing configured to house the set of cooling unit building blocks. The housing may include an air supply corridor configured to receive fresh air and an air return corridor configured to receive used air and distribute the received used throughout the set of cooling unit building blocks. Each cooling unit building block of the set of cooling unit building blocks may include an exchangeable air-conditioning (AC) section positioned proximate to the air supply corridor. The exchangeable AC section may include an exchangeable AC assembly removably coupled to the exchangeable AC section. The exchangeable AC section may include an array of supply fans configured to distribute the fresh air from the air supply corridor to the exchangeable AC assembly.

  • Publication number: 20200344916
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a roof mounted modular cooling unit (“RMC unit”) which is adapted for use above a unit IT structure being used to help form a data center. The RMC unit has a housing configured to be secured perpendicularly relative to a longitudinal axis of a frame of a modular unit IT structure. The housing has a cold air discharge compartment at one end thereof, overlaying a cold aisle formed within the unit IT structure, from which cold air from the modular cooling unit is discharged into the cold aisle, and a hot air intake compartment selectively located to overlay the hot aisle, into which hot air from the hot aisle is drawn. A width of the RMC unit is sufficient to substantially span a full width of the one of the equipment racks.

  • Patent number: 10172261
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a unit structure for use in forming a modular data center. The unit structure may have an elongated frame structure forming a rectangular-like subsystem, and may be adapted to be supported above a floor surface. At least one conduit may be integrated into the elongated frame structure for supplying a fluid to an area defined by the elongated frame structure.

  • Patent number: 9572288
Abstract: A modular data center is disclosed. The modular data center may have a plurality of unit structures arranged generally parallel to one another. A plurality of supports may be used for supporting the unit structures elevationally above a floor, and wherein adjacent ones of the unit structures form hot aisles therebetween through which hot air generated from data center components may be channeled. Each unit structure may form an elongated structure having a frame structure, a roof panel supported by the frame structure, and a ceiling panel. The unit structures may be used to channel cold air to the data center components and hot air from the hot aisles out from the unit structures.

  • Publication number: 20160138260
Abstract: A modular data center system is disclosed for constructing a modular data center building. A plurality of structural support columns are used to support a plurality of unit structures above a floor surface at a desired height relative to the floor surface. A pair of elongated support rails are also included which are coupled perpendicularly to the plurality of structural support columns, at approximately the desired height, to form two parallel, horizontally spaced apart tracks. Each of the unit structures includes a plurality of carriage assemblies, with each of the carriage assemblies including a wheel. The wheels allow the unit structures to be rolled horizontally into a desired position on the pair of elongated support rails when constructing the modular data center building to expedite its assembly.
