  • Publication number: 20240017146
Abstract: A system (10) and a method for determining a maximum miming speed (MRS) of a runner include a memory unit (32) (MU) with miming determinants (30) (RDs) of the runner and venue stored therein. A processor unit (22) (PU), connected to the memory unit (32) (MU), runs a predictive algorithm (24) (PA) using the running 5 determinants (30) (RDs) to determine the maximum running speed of the runner by zeroing a linear momentum balance and an angular momentum balance of the runner, typically over at least a half-running cycle (HRC). An output unit (34) (OU), connected to the processor unit (22) (PU), receives the determined maximum running speed therefrom. The zeroing also allows the determination of a critical 10 ground impulse ratio (Rcr) of the runner.

  • Patent number: 10501058
Abstract: A wheel chock (40) has a profile that provides maximum restraining capacity when the wheel (22) is completely supported thereby, by mitigating undesirable failure modes while promoting the safest failure mode of operation, slipping on ground (30). The profile includes a generally flat bottom surface (46) for being in contact with a ground surface (30), a substantially broken top surface (44) for being in contact with the wheel (22), the top surface (44) including a first contact point (P1), a second contact point (P2), and a contact surface (52) there between allowing at most two points of contact at a time between the contact surface (52) and the wheel (22), with the second contact point (P2) being one of the two points of contact. A more specific clothoid profile of the contact surface (52) is preferred to minimize the rate of variation of the contact force of the wheel (22) with the chock (40).

  • Publication number: 20150217534
Abstract: The invention discloses a multi-layered cushioning structure composed of a first layer of a foam material and a second layer of an elastomeric gel material. The first and second layers are separated from each other by an integration layer having a portion of the elastomeric material integrated by capillarity into a portion of the foam material. The method of fusing the two materials together is also part of the invention.

  • Patent number: 9032571
Abstract: The invention discloses a body cushioning pad, a body contact mat and a multi-layered cushioning structure composed of the body cushioning pad and the body contact mat. The cushioning pad consists of a plurality of foam blocks, each provided with an internal cavity having a predetermined size and shape to control the firmness of the block and means for maintaining the foam blocks as a unit. The body contact mat is a bi-dimensional latticed structure of spaced-apart studs made of a compressible material linked together by flexible linking elements. The multi-layered cushioning structure comprises both the cushioning pad and the body contact mat, and a wrapper to wrap the cushioning pad and the contact mat together.

  • Patent number: 8474153
Abstract: The present invention provides a shoe cover to adaptively fit over a shoe. The show cover has a sole, which includes at least two rigid bands of rigid material, disposed on the bottom of the sole and arranged in spaced relation to each other on opposite sides of a longitudinal axis of the sole, thereby rigidifying the sole. The sole also has an elastic band of the flexible material, spanning longitudinally between the two rigid bands from the front to the rear of the sole, thereby enabling lateral flexibility to adapt to a shoe. The present invention also provides a rigid L-shaped element, each including a first portion on the ground side, a second portion on the side wall, and a fulcrum joining them, to clamp an inserted shoe. A double injection method for producing the above is also provided.
