  • Patent number: 11241093
Abstract: A zero gravity chair mechanism includes a frame having a bottom wall and a pair of vertical side walls; a carriage slidable longitudinally of the bottom wall; a linear actuator for moving the carriage longitudinally of the frame; link arms connected to the carriage for movement with the carriage, front ends of the link arms being connected to chair seat support brackets for moving the brackets longitudinally of the frame, the rear of the brackets moving horizontally while the rear of the brackets move upwardly and rearwardly relative to the frame or downwardly and forwardly relative to the frame, whereby the chair moves between a horizontal position and a zero gravity position. During movement from the zero gravity to the horizontal positions, the back of the chair moves downwardly and forwardly relative to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20080007105
Abstract: A headrest assembly for a chair or sofa includes a fixed rear section, and a front section adapted to slide upwardly and forwardly to an inclined orientation with respect to the rear section. Movement of the front section is controlled by a linear actuator, which is connected via a switch to a source of power such as a battery.

  • Publication number: 20070262626
Abstract: A support and gliding mechanism for a chair or sofa includes a base; an elongated, generally U-shaped support arm on the base; a three-sided end housing pivotally mounted on each free end of the support arm, the housing having inverted triangular sides and a rectangular end extending between outer edges of the sides; and a generally rectangular chair support frame defined by side walls, the bottom corners of which are pivotally connected to the bottom corners of the housing sides, the result being a closed structure covering most of the base even during gliding.

  • Publication number: 20060293620
Abstract: A massage apparatus, which can be retrofitted to a footrest includes vibrators for mounting on the bottom of the footrest; a generally U-shaped frame; hinges for pivotally connecting the footrest to the frame; and a switch on the frame which is in the open position when the footrest lies against the frame and in the closed position when the footrest is rotated relative to the frame to the open, use position. Closing of the switch results in actuation of the vibrators. By placing the feet against the vibrators, the user gets a foot massage.

  • Patent number: 7134720
Abstract: A gliding mechanism for a chair or sofa includes a bottom frame having a pair of parallel sides, a pair of swing arms pivotally connected to the interior of the sides near each end thereof defines a parallelogram linkage. A tube connected to and extending beyond the bottom ends of one pair of swing arms pivotally supports a pair of bars at the bottom of a chair or sofa support frame, and a second tube rotatably connected to the other swing arms supports a linkage which also defines part of the chair support frame, whereby the swing arms and support frame glide in unison.
