Such features may include an integrated port with a housing that includes a first portion coupled to a second portion, wherein the first portion and the second portion comprise different materials, and a cover over an opening into the housing. The first portion may face the cover and allow transmis-mission of electromagnetic signals through the second portion in a direction away from the cover.

    Abstract: Medical implants including sensors are described. The implant may have a flexible shell with a base, wherein the plurality of sensors may be incorporated onto and/or into the shell. The plurality of sensors may be distributed at different locations of the shell. Each sensor of the plurality of sensors may be configured to measure one or more parameters such as, e.g., temperature and/or pressure, and may comprise an electromagnetic coil useful for wireless transmission of data. Each sensor may be configured to transmit data at a frequency different from the frequency of one or more of the other sensors, may be configured to transmit data at a time different from a time data is transmitted by one or more of the other sensors, and/or may include a device identifier different from the device identifier of one or more of the other sensors.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to devices for inserting expandable balloons into an implantation site of a patient. Such devices may include a base (326) having a longitudinal axis and defining a cavity (322); an expandable balloon (330) disposed within the cavity in a collapsed configuration; and a flexible lumen (310) extending proximally from the balloon to a pump (302), the flexible lumen fluidly connecting the balloon to the pump. The base may include a projection extending distally, parallel to the longitudinal axis, wherein at least a portion of the balloon is coupled to the projection. Further, for example, the device may include a cover (324) coupled to the base and movable relative to the base to selectively cover and expose the cavity to deploy the balloon.
