A preferred embodiment of the training bag apparatus includes: (a) a base including (1) a bottom part having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein the lower surface has a rounded edge extending around the lower surface and (2) a top part attached to the upper surface of the bottom part of the base; and (b) a column supported on the top part of the base and extending substantially vertically upward from the top part of the base. The column and the base are an integral one-piece unit and move in the same direction when the column is struck.
