  • Publication number: 20050231338
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for use in motorized vehicles to provide a vehicle back-up alarm system, intended for mounting on a vehicle, that also incorporates an apparatus for detecting and alarming low battery conditions. Preferably incorporated into a main housing are the electronic components that perform power regulation, system control, voltage sensing, timing, alarm tone generation, sound emitting and, optionally, light emitting. The housing serves to securely fix and retain these components and to protect them from moisture and dirt. The circuitry is connected to the vehicle upon which it is installed by preferably three connection terminals situated on the housing. Distinctive tones and/or lamp sequences alert the operator and those by-standers within proximity to the vehicle to different alarm conditions.

  • Publication number: 20050056392
Abstract: An apparatus and method for conditioning a moving porous web on a papermaking machine is disclosed. The web has a first and a second surface and a high temperature gaseous boundary layer adjacent at least the second surface.

  • Publication number: 20040095154
Abstract: The objects of the invention are to provide a low cost, stable, portable, and rugged field-use device that measures wet density, moisture content, and dry density in soils that have been constructed for use as road beds and building foundations. This data is used to ensure the quality control of the constructed foundation. The present invention integrates the complex science of soil mechanics with electrical engineering to provide efficient evaluation of soil materials that are used in civil construction.

  • Publication number: 20020195370
Abstract: A closure system of the present invention preferably includes a flexible or rigid container having container mating surface, a stiffening ring having a first ring mating surface and a second ring mating surface, and a stopper having a stopper mating surface. The first ring mating surface is matable to the container mating surface and the second ring mating surface is matable to the stopper mating surface. In one preferred embodiment a dosing cavity is defined in the stopper mating surface. The container may be sealed to have inhalation energy stored therein. When the inhalation energy is released, dosing material within the dosing cavity is inhaled into the container. The inhalation energy is stored as inhalation means such as vacuum or the deflection of at least one panel of the container or the closure system.

  • Patent number: 4776046
Abstract: A pedestal table which is to be releasably secured to the floor area of a smooth surfaced hot tub, spa or whirlpool and includes a foot massage device powered by pressurized water from the whirlpool. The table includes a base member or pedestal having at least three elastomeric suction cups facing downwardly to come into contact with the floor area. An elongate, cylindrical column extends upwardly from the base member or pedestal through the water in the hot tub, spa or whirlpool to support a table top above the surface of the water. A supplemental column can be provided which supports the table top substantially in the plan of the top of the spa, and in such position, the table top serves as a center support for a rigid cover placed over the spa when the spa is not in use.
