    Abstract: An extendable electric lamp includes a base and a hollow telescopic arm powered for movement between a contracted and an extended position. A drive cable in the arm includes embedded electrical conductors. The drive cable is operated by a motor in the base thereby extending the arm between different positions and simultaneously extending the cable between a light source at the end of the arm and a power source connected through the base.
