  • Patent number: 11959032
Abstract: A process for steam cracking a whole crude including a volatilization step performed to maintain a relatively large hydrocarbon droplet size. The process may include contacting a whole crude with steam to volatilize a portion of the hydrocarbons, wherein the contacting of the hydrocarbon feedstock and steam is conducted at an initial relative velocity of less than 30 m/s, for example. The resulting vapor phase, including volatilized hydrocarbons and steam may then be separated from a liquid phase comprising unvaporized hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbons in the vapor phase may then be forwarded to a steam pyrolysis reactor for steam cracking of the hydrocarbons in the vapor phase.

  • Publication number: 20220219978
Abstract: Processes and systems for recovering hydrogen may include feeding a gas stream, comprising hydrogen and additional gases, to a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system and feeding a membrane permeate stream comprising hydrogen to the PSA system. In the PSA system, a portion of the hydrogen may be separated from the additional gases to recover a hydrogen product stream and a PSA tail gas stream comprising unseparated hydrogen and the additional gases. The PSA tail gas stream may be fed to a membrane separation unit for separating hydrogen from the additional gases and to recover (i) the membrane permeate stream comprising hydrogen fed to the PSA system and (ii) a membrane tail gas stream comprising the additional gases. Embodiments herein may additionally include a refrigeration system for partially condensing one or both of the feed gas stream and the PSA tail gas stream, enhancing the efficiency of the membrane separation unit.

  • Publication number: 20100308199
Abstract: The holder for two-dimensional articles includes at least two opposed, parallel slots or grooves adapted to grip the opposite edges of a thin, flexible display article (e.g., photo, business or other sign, artwork, etc.). The slots or grooves have a span therebetween slightly less than the span of the article to be held therebetween, and the bottom portions of the slots or grooves may be more widely spaced from one another than their upper edges. Thus, one edge of the article may be inserted into one slot and the article flexed to tuck the opposite edge in the opposite slot, with the resulting curvature of the article producing a spring-like effect that urges the opposed edges into the slots of the holder. A number of embodiments may be provided, e.g., multiple slots to hold multiple articles in a horizontal and/or vertical array, different slot configurations, easel and wall mounts, etc.

  • Publication number: 20070047168
Abstract: A portable ionizer is arranged for generating ionized air in an area of a user's fingers. The portable ionizer includes a battery-powered oscillator coupled via a high voltage conversion circuit to a positive electrode and a negative electrode for generating positive and negative ions. A fan positioned near the positive and negative electrodes is arranged providing a positive and negative ion flow path to the area of the user's fingers.
