  • Publication number: 20240097532
Abstract: A mechanically commutated motor (200) configured for use with an external magnetic field (240) is disclosed. The motor (200) includes an axle (208) formed of anon-magnetic material. A rotor (206) is coupled to the axle (208), the rotor (206) including three or more actuator units (205) spaced about the axle (208). Each actuator unit (205) comprises a non-magnetic material, a coil winding (214) along each of the three or more actuator units (205), and a commutator (216) coupled to the axle (208) and electrically associated with the coil windings (214). The motor (200) further includes two or more resilient contacts (210) oriented to direct a current through the commutator (216) to one of the coil windings (214) to induce a current in the coil winding (214) to form an electromagnet that rotates the rotor (206) relative to the external magnetic field (240) from a magnet located external to the mechanically commutated motor (200).

  • Patent number: 7812939
Abstract: A mixing bin for the blending of materials (e.g., pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, etc.) bears a spectrometer which monitors the characteristics of the material being tumbled within the bin interior to thereby obtain an indication of the degree to which the material is mixed. An accelerometer also rides on the mixing bin with the spectrometer, and it monitors the position of the mixing bin as it rotates. The accelerometer measurements can then be used to trigger the taking and/or recordation of spectrometer measurements at times during which the material within the bin falls against the spectrometer's input window, thereby promoting greater accuracy in spectrometer measurements, and/or at the same bin position, thereby promoting greater uniformity between spectrometer measurements.

  • Patent number: 7058996
Abstract: A toilet lifting and transport device. The device has forward legs and rear legs, with the forward legs being selectively deployable in an open configuration for lifting and transporting use, and a closed configuration for storage. A screw lift is positioned on at least one horizontal support that is positioned between the rear legs. The lifting device is coupled to a toilet fixture via a tank strap and bridge straps. Lifting of the toilet fixture is then accomplished utilizing the screw lift. Transport of the lifting device with the toilet fixture thereon is accomplished by rolling the lifting device on wheels located on the bottoms of the rear and forward legs. An alternative design utilizing the same lifting and transport principle is also disclosed.
