    Abstract: A chipper truck and trailer assembly for tree trimming and removal includes a truck having a cab and a bed frame. The truck also has a chipper box mounted thereon and open at an end thereof. A trailer is removably connected to the end of the truck adjacent the open end of the chipper box and maintains thereon a chipper unit with a feed chute and a discharge chute. The feed and discharge chutes are at an obtuse angle to each other such that operator may stand alongside the trailer, rather than behind it. The discharge chute is directed into the chip box. A drive shaft interconnects an auxiliary PTO taken from the truck transmission and a power input to the chipper unit.

    Abstract: A chipper mounted aerial unit for tree trimming and removal includes a truck having a cab and bed frame. An aerial unit including a hydraulic arm and lift bucket are attached to the bed frame. A chipper unit is attached at and end of the bed frame opposite the truck cab, and has a feed chute angled with respect to a discharge chute, the discharge chute being in substantial alignment with a main longitudinal axis of the truck. A chip box trailer is connected by means of a hitch to the bed frame and is positioned to receive debris in the form of chipped wood and the like from the discharge chute of the chipper. The chip box trailer may be quickly removed from a hitch on the bed frame and transported to a disposal area by another vehicle, while another chip box trailer is positioned for continued receipt of debris from the chipper, minimizing down time and improving operator safety by allowing the operator to stand out of the roadway while feeding the angled feed chute.

    Abstract: A mechanism provides compliance between a tool and a robotic arm and includes a base with a first face. The mechanism includes a post assembly with a thrust washer and a mounting post attached to the thrust washer. The thrust washer engages the first face to form a compliance joint that permits a compliance range of sliding translational motion along the first face. The mechanism comprises springs that slideably engage an outer rim surface of the post assembly and providing a compliance force resisting the sliding translational motion. A retainer is mounted to the base and compresses the thrust washer against the first face and limits rotational motion of the assembly out of a plane of the first face.

The tether comprises a ring-shaped body portion defining a collar that is constructed and dimensioned to fit around the neck of the container. An integral arcuate leash encircles the collar and is concentric exteriorly of the collar so as to at least partially surround the collar. An integral radially extending connecting ligament also formed from the same plastic resin is located between the collar and a proximal end of the leash.     Abstract: A rotating beacon employs an array of LEDs mounted on a rotor assembly in a pattern for unidirectional emission wherein the LEDs are excited through noncontact inductive coupling between a load coupling on the rotor assembly and a source coupling on the stator or mount element. In a particular embodiment, a primary sender flat coil of an air gap transformer is disposed concentrically forming a disc and mounted juxtaposed to a secondary receiver flat coil so that power can be conveyed across the air gap while the rotor is in motion. The transferred power excites substantially all of the LED array in a fixed pattern on the rotating mount. In a second embodiment, the air gap transformer has a primary sender coil is mounted coaxially with a secondary receiver coil (which is typically but not necessarily inside the primary coil), so the secondary, with the array can freely rotate and draw power from the source.

    Abstract: The present invention is a process to react limestone with sulfate and/or sulfuric acid solutions and/or other solutions containing sulfates, in order to neutralize the solutions and precipitate the sulfates, in such a way that the limestone is used with an efficiency that makes the use of limestone economic. This reaction is most often used in the environmental cleanup of mine and industrial wastes, however it may be used in other industrial applications. In previously existing technology, the reaction is typically done in agitated tanks containing a slurry of the solution mixed with lime or limestone, or in percolating beds of crushed limestone. Typically the reaction of limestone in such systems is very slow and inefficient, so that normally the use of limestone is precluded—it is instead necessary to utilize lime (calcium oxide or hydroxide).

    Abstract: The object of the Electrical Density Gauge (EDG) invention is to provide a low cost, portable, non-nuclear, and rugged field-use device that measures dry density in soils that have been constructed for use as road-beds and building foundations. This data is used to ensure the quality control of the constructed foundation. The electrical properties of soil are measured at a radio frequency using probes driven into the soil. To calibrate EDG, certain algorithms of these electrical properties are related to physically measured wet densities and unit weights of water for a plurality of calibration test spots. Correlation regressions are found, that are used to convert values of the electrical properties measured at unknown field test spots into values of dry density.
