Abstract: A system for detecting items or persons coming into proximity of one another is disclosed. The system includes at least one scanning device and a server. Each scanning device is configured to detect any transmitting devices in its proximity and record an identifier of each transmitting device and a date/time the transmitting device is detected. The scanning device uploads the recorded information to the server. The server uses the recorded information to identify users of the scanning and transmitting devices that are at least possibly exposed to a virus when one of the users is determined to be an infected case.

Abstract: A method for automatically handling electronic orders is disclosed. The method includes receiving an order indication indicating an electronic order for an item by a customer. The method further includes determining a security value based on the order indication and initiating a transfer of at least one digital valuable from a first account associated with the customer to a second account based on the security value. In this manner, a seller of the item is provided with a security or a deposit in the form of the digital value. A system implementing the method is also disclosed.

Abstract: A device and method for facilitating network access is disclosed. The device for facilitating network access comprises: a first communication module operable to obtain the network access from a first network provider; a second communication module operable to connect to a communication device, the communication device is operable to obtain the network access from a second network provider; and a processor operable to select at least one of the first communication module and the second communication module to connect to an electronic device; wherein the processor is operable to select the at least one of the first communication module and the second communication module based on a property of a set of executable instructions capable of being accessed by the electronic device.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system for the provision and management of web resource including a node server configured to store a plurality of web resource usage profiles associated with one or more users, the node server comprises a local cache to store web resources; a switch server arranged in signal communication with the node server and configured to switch the provision of web resource between a first mode and a second mode; wherein the node server is connectable to at least one of a local and a global network; and wherein in the first mode the node server retrieves web resource from the local cache; and in the second mode the node server retrieves web resource from at least one of the local and the global network. A device in the form a node server and a method using the node server to provide and manage web resource are also disclosed.
