Patent number: 11928041Abstract: Embodiments of a system for determining a data gravity index score and implementing pervasive data center architecture is disclosed. In some embodiments, the system can calculate a data gravity index score based on the amount of data stored in a given location, an amount of data in motion in the given location, a bandwidth index associated with the given location, and a latency index associated with the given location. Based on data gravity index scores, in some embodiments, the system can localize traffic to improve network performance, improve security operations, and generate software-defined-network overlay.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2023Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Digital Realty Trust, Inc.Inventors: Dave Dennis McCrory, Anthony Bennett Bishop

Patent number: 9417116Abstract: The present invention provides a weighing apparatus comprising a load cell and an inclinometer and a method of weighing with and calibrating the weighing apparatus that tilt compensates for component parts of load cell readings that vary according to different relationships with load cell inclination. The present invention further provides a weighing apparatus and method of weighing with and calibrating the weighing apparatus that compensates for residual errors in a measured weight that has been pre-compensated for load cell inclination.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2010Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: Kelvin Dennis Bishop

Patent number: 7863508Abstract: A String Alignment Plate for stringed instruments to reduce the excess friction in that portion of the string in the head region, generated at the nut of the instrument as a string passes through a notch of the nut and then bends in order to align with the tuning pin or machine head. The additional friction is created at the point of the bend where the string rubs excessively against the nut. This friction impedes tuning and results in differential tension of the string on either side of the nut. The String Alignment Plate is affixed to the head of the instrument and keeps the portion of the string in the head area in-line or parallel with that portion of the same string as it extends from the bridge to the nut, thus removing the bend. Once the string reaches the String Alignment Plate, the string curves around the Peg on the String Alignment Plate to the tuning peg or machine head.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2009Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Inventor: Dennis Bishop

Patent number: 3947265Abstract: A process and an apparatus for making alloying additions to molten metals. The process consists of providing the material to be added in the form of strip, wire or rod: placing this material in close proximity to the molten metal to which the addition is to be made; and flowing a high current through the material to be added and the molten metal forming an arc between the molten metal and the material to be added. The heat of the arc melts the addition material which is then driven through the arc into the molten metal.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1973Date of Patent: March 30, 1976Assignee: Swiss Aluminium LimitedInventors: Matthew M. Guzowski, E. Dennis Bishop, William C. Setzer
