  • Publication number: 20240126103
Abstract: A prescription lens insert and methods of use are described, in which flexing a frame of a prescription lens insert, such that left and right rims of the frame are displaced mediolaterally, aligns respective larger ends of two keyhole apertures of the frame with left and right mushroom-shaped connector pegs protruding rearward from a pair of protective glasses. The prescription lens insert is then placed over the left and right connector pegs, such that distal heads of the connector pegs pass through the two keyhole apertures of the frame and the keyhole apertures are disposed adjacent shaft portions of the connector pegs. The frame of the prescription lens insert is then unflexed to align respective smaller ends of the two keyhole apertures with the left and right connector pegs, such that the distal heads prevent removal of the unflexed frame.

  • Patent number: 7271744
Abstract: An encoder utilizes a coding method for use with ferroelectric or other nonvolatile counters which are subject to imprint ensures that all of the bits in the code are frequently switched and not left in a fixed data state. The general coding equation for this method is such that: for an even integer n, it is represented by the conventional binary code of n/2; for an odd integer n, it is represented by the conventional binary code of the one's compliment of (n?1)/2. With this method, every bit switches to its compliment when counting from an even number to an odd number so that imprint is substantially reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040062904
Abstract: A vehicle carpet module consisting of a piece of tufted carpet that is attached to a piece of thermoplastic material, the module being contoured to the shape of a motor vehicle floor. The carpet module being vacuum formed over a single hollow mold element. The mold element having a molding surface shaped to correspond to the shape of the vehicle floor and having a plurality of vacuum ports formed through the contoured surface. A vacuum pulling the air from the interior of the mold element and causes the vacuum ports to draw a heated carpet segment against the contoured surface and thereby shape the segment into a carpet module. The carpet segment is heated sufficiently soften the thermoplastic material which, upon subsequent cooling, hardens to retain the shape of the molding surface.

  • Publication number: 20040001934
Abstract: Recyclable carpet products are made by incorporating a reactive compatibilizing agent in the precoat layer which is used to bond a polymeric face fiber layer to a backing polymeric layer where the polymers of the respective layers are otherwise incompatible to make homogeneous recycled blends.

  • Publication number: 20030147288
Abstract: A method for accessing data in a serial ferroelectric memory device including an input shift register coupled to a ferroelectric memory array including a plurality of memory cells arranged in a number of rows and columns thereof, the memory array having associated row, column, and segment decoders, includes clocking a serial address into the input shift register and starting a read access before the serial address is completely shifted into the input shift register. A read access can be started before an input bit sequence containing row, column, and segment decoder addresses has been completely clocked into the memory.

  • Patent number: 5341009
Abstract: Depletion layer depth and semiconductor real estate occupation area shortcomings of conventional MOS capacitor architectures that are formed on lightly doped semiconductor material are obviated by augmenting the MOS capacitor structure with a pair of opposite conductivity type, high impurity concentration regions, both of which are directly contiguous with the lightly doped lower plate layer that underlies the capacitor's dielectric layer, and connecting both of these auxiliary heavily doped regions to a common capacitor electrode terminal for the lower plate of the capacitor. If a high negative charge is applied to the upper plate overlying the thin dielectric layer, holes are readily supplied by the auxiliary P+ region. Conversely, if a high positive charge be applied to the upper plate, electrons are readily supplied by the auxiliary N+ region. By connecting both the auxiliary N+ and P+ regions together, a deep depletion condition is prevented for either polarity of the applied voltage.
