  • Patent number: 6273644
Abstract: An apparatus and method for inserting a new service pipe into an existing high pressure service pipe that contains a leak, without the necessity of excavation or separately shutting off the supply of the high pressure gas upstream of the effected pipe section. A nosecone coupled with a unique stopper assembly allows a temporary sealing of the high pressure pipe between the main and the leak point, and insertion flow of a sealer through the nosecone, such that the sealer fills the annular space between the new pipe and the old pipe, providing a gas tight permanent seal. The end of the stopper assembly has temporary stop plug that must be drilled open to reestablish the communication of high pressure gas into the new pipe without the chance of flow entering the old pipe.

  • Patent number: 5375638
Abstract: An improved hydraulic log splitter which includes a hydraulic reservoir formed integrally with a frame of the log splitter. Hydraulic fluid from the reservoir is supplied by a pump to a control valve. A fluid passage is open through the control valve to a hydraulic intensifier which includes a cylinder and a piston extendable from the cylinder. The piston pushes a log against a stationary splitting wedge. The piston is urged toward a retracted position by a return spring internal to the cylinder. When the control valve is in other than an "extend" position, hydraulic fluid supplied to the control valve is allowed to flow into a return conduit back to the reservoir. In this condition, the pressure the hydraulic fluid develops insufficient force to overcome the force exerted by the return spring, and the ram remains retracted.

  • Patent number: 4260119
Abstract: A spray head is carried on the end of a flexible hose guided for up and down movement in a chute by a length of roller chain which allows the hose to curve gradually from horizontal to vertical while providing a low friction support for the hose. The chain may be inserted endwise into the chute through a relatively small hole formed in the chute and in a wall surrounding the chute.
