  • Patent number: 10821562
Abstract: Embodiments provide a method for removably mounting at least one wiper ring to the underside of a cone head of a cone crusher. The method includes the following steps in the order recited: inducing a temperature difference between the cone head and the at least one wiper ring; mounting the at least one wiper ring to an underside of the cone head while maintaining the temperature difference; and holding the at least one wiper ring against the underside of the cone head while the temperature difference dissipates. The temperature difference may be induced by either cooling the at least one wiper ring or by heating the cone head, or both.

  • Publication number: 20200276591
Abstract: A system for maintaining a downward force on a central shaft of a cone crusher having a stationary frame is provided, wherein the central shaft is mounted to rotate with respect to the stationary frame. The system may include a disc fixed to the frame and having a substantially centrally-disposed opening. A pressure plate may be mounted to and biased toward the central shaft and positioned below the disc. The pressure plate may have a surface that faces the disc and extends downwardly. The bias of the pressure plate toward the central shaft may bias the pressure plate against the disc during at least some crushing operations. The disc may exert a downward force on the pressure plate and on the central shaft to which the pressure plate is mounted during the at least some operations.

  • Publication number: 20200276592
Abstract: A system for maintaining a downward force on a central shaft of a cone crusher having a stationary frame, including a disc fixedly mounted to the frame, the disc having a centrally-disposed aperture with a first diameter. A plate is mounted to an end cap, the plate having a second diameter that is greater than the first diameter. The plate is disposed distally of the disc and the end cap is disposed proximally of the disc. A housing is fixed to the central shaft and biased away from the end cap wherein a downward bias is imparted to the central shaft.

  • Publication number: 20200276590
Abstract: A mantle is provided that is disposed over a cone head of a cone crusher, including an outer surface designed to cooperate with a crusher liner to crush rocks that enter a crushing zone between the outer surface of the mantle and the crusher liner. Also provided is a mantle nut and washer assembly for mounting the mantle to the cone head. The mantle includes a flange extending around an inner surface of the mantle between the inner surface of the mantle and the mantle nut and washer assembly to absorb heat generated when performing cutting operations to remove and replace the mantle.

  • Publication number: 20200261917
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide a cone crusher having a bowl support and a stationary frame to which the bowl support may be mounted, the frame including an outwardly-facing threaded portion. A wedge structure may be disposed between the bowl support and the threaded portion of the frame, the wedge structure including an inwardly-facing threaded portion, the threads of which complement the outwardly facing threaded portion of the frame. Means may be provided for exerting an upward force on the wedge structure to move the wedge structure from an original position to an operational position during crushing operations and means may be provided for exerting a downward force on the wedge structure to return the wedge ring to the original position following crushing operations.

  • Patent number: 10722895
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a generally cylindrical bowl support for a cone crusher which includes a plurality of evenly, circumferentially spaced ears around the periphery of the support. The ears are designed to have clamping cylinders mounted thereto to provide protection from tramp iron and the like passing through the cone crusher. A plurality of thickened ribs are defined in the support, at least some of the thickened ribs extending downwardly from the ears to form abutting polygon configurations to spread and absorb forces from a crushing operation. Other ones of the ribs define at least one circumferentially-extending, continuous ring forming portions of the polygons.

  • Publication number: 20200230609
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide a cone crusher having a mantle and a rotating eccentric that causes the mantle to gyrate from side to side with respect to a stationary frame to which is mounted a crusher lining. The cone crusher may include a thrust bearing having a first bearing ring rotating with the eccentric and a second bearing ring mounted to the frame, the first and second bearing rings being disposed immediately adjacent and facing each other, one of the rings having a plurality of spaced oil feeds and a first and a second set of ramps on a surface facing the other ring. The first and second set of ramps extend upwardly from each of the oil feeds in opposite circumferential directions.
