  • Publication number: 20140304131
Abstract: A system and method in accordance with example embodiments may calculate a velocity of money associated with a particular account and a particular customer. Additionally, a system and method in accordance with example embodiments may calculate an overdraft risk score based on the velocity of money, where the overdraft risk score may be used to determine an overdraft protection limit for an account.

  • Patent number: 7040849
Abstract: A securement mechanism includes a tie down cleat assembly for engagement with a mating component, the tie down cleat assembly including a pin, a lock plate adjacent one of the ends of the pin, and a housing with an aperture receiving the pin. An actuating member is operationally connected to the pin and causes selective movement of the pin and lock plate between a secured and unsecured orientation. The lock plate includes two dimensions, a first dimension permitting the lock plate to be inserted into a channel associated with the mating component and a second dimension permitting the securement of the mating component between the housing and locking plate. The pin and locking plate and preferably the housing all rotate as a single unit.

  • Patent number: 4836496
Abstract: An SME actuator is provided by a housing (14), a plunger (12) axially reciprocal in the housing, a compression spring (16) or Belleville washers (60) biasing the plunger in one direction, SME (shape memory effect) disc washers (18) around the plunger and thermally deformable to move the plunger in the opposite direction, and a concentric electrical resistance heater (36) and/or fluid inlet and outlet ports (8, 10 or 86, 88) for thermally actuating the SME disc washers to in turn move the plunger. Multi-position control is provided by a stack of a plurality of SME Belleville disc washers of differing transition temperatures. Alternatively, the washers can all have the same transition temperature and operate proportionally with increasing or decreasing temperatures. Another version is provided by an SME torsion bar (96) and threaded drive element (104) for axially translating the plunger (112).

  • Patent number: 4261509
Abstract: Heating, ventilating and air conditioning control systems commonly use pneumatic actuators. A digital logic control has first and second output ports applied to control the actuator through dual channels, including an air supply channel and an air exhaust channel. Various sensed and related input signals are processed by the logic device and generate control signals at the control signal ports. Each channel includes an electrically controlled switch unit having an electrical operator and a pneumatic switch for controlling the flow to and from the pneumatic actuator. The switch may take the form of an electromagnetically actuated flow valve opening and closing a flow path from a supply or exhaust to the pneumatic actuator or, in the case of the supply channel, the form of a small electrically operated pump unit. The actuation of the actuator is controlled either on a time or frequency basis to set the actuator in the proper position.
