  • Patent number: 10479464
Abstract: Water rescue systems, devices, and methods are disclosed herein. One water rescue system, includes, one or more poles, with one or more J-hooks attached thereto; and a sling made from a length of line to form a loop sized to accommodate a torso of a victim to be rescued from a body of water, and wherein one of the one or more J-hooks is positioned to hold the sling in position during the placement of the sling over the victim.

  • Publication number: 20080082385
Abstract: A project scheduling method including separating the project into a plurality of phases to be completed in a sequential order, determining a first start date for a first phase and determining a next start date for a next phase in the plurality of phases by adding a first maximum lead time to the first start date. Also, a start date can be determined for each of the plurality of phases by adding a maximum lead time for each phase to a previous phase start date until a completion date is obtained. In addition, it can be determined when an action is to be taken regarding an item from one of an equipment list and a materials list based on the start date for each of the plurality of phases.

  • Patent number: 4672574
Abstract: A communication system is provided in which one data transmitting display terminal has the capability of transmitting a data stream in coded form to at least one data receiving terminal over a communication linkage. This data transmitting terminal further includes the capability of displaying, when necessary, the stream of coded data directly on its display so that if there is a transmission problem, the coded data itself can be analyzed in diagnosing the problem. The present communications system has the further capability of diagnosing data streams at remote display terminals. For example, if one transmitting terminal is communicating with a receiving terminal and a problem arises between the two terminals, the system provides the capability of the transmitting terminal sending the data stream to another receiving terminal remote from the first two terminals.

  • Patent number: 4577288
Abstract: A communications system is provided in which at least the receiving terminal is a display terminal. The receiving terminal has the capability of storing substantially more data than just the data the alphanumeric representations of which is being displayed. The data receiving display terminal includes the text storage buffer for storing the received data. The text storage buffer has a capacity greater than just the data being displayed. The receiving terminal also includes apparatus operative during data transmission for displaying only part of the stored received data. The display terminal further includes expedients for selectively designating portions of the displayed received data and apparatus for printing such designated portions.

  • Patent number: 4443863
Abstract: A data communications system for asynchronous communication having at least two data transmit/receive terminals wherein the display is periodically updated with new send or receive data. In the receive mode the data is accumulated in a receive buffer for a predetermined time interval and then transferred into a text storage buffer which then activates a display access method to process the stored data and update the display. The display access method then goes into an "idle" mode and waits for the next transfer of data which does not occur until the predetermined time interval has expired. In the transmit mode the send data is transmitted without a delay but the display is updated after the predetermined time interval has expired.

  • Patent number: 4225943
Abstract: A display system for horizontally segmenting text made up of varying width characters and spaces. When a text measure is wider than the width of a display device, only a portion of the text can be displayed at one time. By dividing the text into segments, all of the text can be ultimately displayed. This is done automatically dependent upon the current location of a cursor positioned within one of the lines of the text. Entire lines of text, including a scale line, are sequentially loaded into a line buffer beginning with the line containing the cursor. A segment of the line containing the cursor is determined and displayed, and then corresponding segments of subsequent lines are determined and displayed. Thereafter, a corresponding segment of the scale line is determined and displayed. The display includes only whole characters adjacent its left edge.
